Mando nicks his own leg with the Darksaber.

Not because he doesn't have the force, but because it's very difficult to wield. It has some kind of mystical force property that makes it heavier for reasons I can't personally explain, but I'm sure somebody out there can. I never watched Rebels, and it was featured in that show from what I've been told.

I played them so far apart that I didn't even realize it until a couple years ago when I saw the video Cybershell made about the differences. I knew I remembered it looking waayyyy better, but thought that was just my younger brain filling in the gaps. Turns out I was right and the PS3 port (which was one of the updated versions, not the DC version) was a piece of crap. I have it on Steam, bought it as soon as I saw the video, but I haven't been in the mood to play it until now.

I've never done this before. Wish me luck.

Difference is, Iron Man was well written, well-cast, well-scored, and well-marketed. Well-made in general.

Morbius has that feel of a lot of those early-to-mid 2000s superhero movies, the ones that came out before Iron Man and didn't seem to know what they were actually supposed to be.

SMCU seems to be focusing on dark/anti-heroes and tragic/reformed villains right now, so he's a decent enough addition to the roster.

Thing is, most of these movies live or die based on the popularity of the character. If the character isn't popular, that's where good marketing comes in--Nobody knew who the fuck the Guardians of the Galaxy were, but when that trailer dropped for the first time, people were fuckin in. Nowadays, the Guardians are major fixture, and they have their own huge, dedicated fanbase.

Marketing gets people in the seats on opening weekend, and movie quality gets them telling their friends to see it.

Morbius had bad marketing and was a mediocre movie. With no name recognition. Ask any random person who Venom is, there's a decent chance they know. Ask them about Morbius (before the memes) and it's gonna be a lot of confused looks and "That guy from the Matrix?"

I think what ignited the strong reaction was the marketing campaign. They kept framing it like it's "the next Marvel movie," even though it's definitely not an MCU film. It kind of had energy of "Look, I'm Marvel too!" and it was both sad and hilarious at the same time.

It even had the tagline of "A new Marvel legend arrives," which I think is 90% responsible for the bullying. They should have just played it cool and done their own thing without trying to sneak into the MCU sphere.

Kinda strange thing to say, but you do you.

For me, Hank's death was the most impactful, but not the saddest. He went out like a fucking badass, didn't beg, didn't flinch. What a boss.

Honestly, the saddest for me was Gale. He didn't do a damn thing wrong, and doing it fucked Jesse up severely for a long time. That scene about the "problem dog" really got me.

Yeah, there should have been a few weapons that were unbreakable. The strongest stuff should still break, so there's incentive to farm and find new stuff, but a few of the useful ones like the fire sword and stuff should have been unbreakable. I kept one of those and never used it because it provided extra heat in cold places. If I used it, it would break, and I would lose that utility.
