Based on the language of that bill, it could potentially be interpreted that way. I'd imagine the law will be revisited the moment heterosexual teachers are sued for mentioning their husband or wife in casual conversation.

Doubtful because the end goal of this is to defund schools to the point where charter schools are the only viable option. So the gotcha of turning it around and going after straight comments still progresses towards that goal.

I would say the federal DoE should cut off funding to states that pass these laws, but that's exactly what they want.
