I get the apprehension as well. With the SCOTUS stripping away rights and the 2022 midterms looking bleak for the Dems, a large-scale DOJ prosecution effort would be a major win for the left.

It looks like the committee has indeed done its due diligence, and it's great having everything laid out as it has been. The fact that there are still more hearings is a sign that they're saving some big reveals for when all of the evidence coalesces.

Right now, Democratic leadership needs to continue to support the investigation; and when the DOJ is ready to indict people, they need to go on the hyper offensive and call out every single arrest.

Also Nancy Pelosi needs to stop f***ing saying we need a strong Republican Party like a f***ing idiot.

Yeah, it's becoming more and more clear that the modern GOP needs to end. Far and wide, at state and federal levels, they supported and encouraged this bullshit.

It's nice to have confirmation of where this "1776" bullshit came from. One of my old high school teachers was cheering on the capitol riot and he kept saying 1776. As a black person, it's kinda disturbing how gleefully people were referencing that time, and I was pretty shocked that one of my own teachers was doing it. He even made a Facebook post at one point that said "We had more freedom in 1776 than we do today." When I asked him to define "we" in that context, he simply said "Point taken."

I understand the skepticism, but to just say "The DoJ won't do anything," when the DoJ is in fact doing things related to this is just sticking your head in the sand. Sure, we'd all like the DoJ to move faster, but it is what it is. This is a large investigation that spans multiple states across the country and they've arrested over 800 people just for rioting at the capitol. It's the largest FBI investigation in the history of the country so far. Things are moving along. They're moving slowly, but they're indeed moving.

Multiple people, including members of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, are cooperating with the government and the committee. And that doesn't even include Georgia's investigation ramping up in recent weeks.

• The FBI raided Jeffrey Clark's house, and he was forced to stand outside in a shirt and his underwear
• The FBI seized John Eastman's cell phone and forced him to unlock it. They were able to access his email accounts.
• Multiple state GOP officials have been subpoenaed by the DoJ in relation to the fake electors scheme in Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona, and possibly other states. Can't remember them all at the moment. I'll look it up later.

DoJ won't do anything and it'll just embolden the Right to try again or try something worse.

It sends the message that the Left will continue to do nothing and the Right will keep getting away with whatever they want.

Not sure how many times this needs to be said, but the DoJ is currently conducting their own investigation in parallel to this, and we've seen signs of that publicly in recent weeks.

Republican members of the house received a memorandum from the chairwoman of the house republican caucus in the days before 1/6, explaining in detail the many constitutional and legal problems with objections and describing the principal judicial rulings dismissing the claims of widespread fraud.

Republicans went forward with the objections any way.

At this point, It's not fair to say that "the department of justice refuses to do anything." They're doing their own investigation, and we're seeing signs of that publicly in recent weeks. The committee will also be sending all of their evidence to the DoJ after their investigation is complete later this year.

A federal district court judge concluded that Trump and Eastman, more likely than not, violated multiple federal criminal laws in their pressure campaign against the Vice President.

On January 4th, John Eastman went to the White House to meet with Trump and Pence. Pat Cipollone tried to join the meeting, but he was turned away. Cipollone cites executive privilege in his refusal to give details about whether he decided not to attend on his own or if someone told him to leave.

• We got derogatory information from OSINT, suggesting that some very, very violent individuals were organizing to come to D.C. and not only were they organized to come to D.C., but these nonaligned groups were aligning. All the red flags went up at that point. When you have armed militia collaborating with white supremacy groups, collaborating with conspiracy theory groups online, all toward a common goal, you start seeing, what we call in terrorism, a blended ideology. That's a very very bad sign. Then, when there were clearly across, not just one platform, but across multiple platforms, these groups coordinating, not just chatting, but like, "What are you bringing, what are you wearing, where do we meet up, do you have plans for the capitol," that's pre-operational intelligence. That is something that's clearly alarming.
