I get to sit down, read some books, maybe watch some TV, and potentially get highly educated? Hell yeah.

She's got a lot of issues, way more than most people.
But they also can be a good person.

It's a position I'm with a lot of people, they don't reach out, and I don't reach out. It would be better for them to have a solid friendgroup, but also likely to cause issues. It's not my responsibility, it sucks.

Again, it's the distinction between "questioning" in the sense of "doubting" and "questioning" in the sense of "you've made it clear to me that you want me to talk about this subject about which I know a lot, how much do you already know?" People don't get offended by that. At least, not more than they would by "I'm just going to assume you know nothing and talk to you accordingly," which is the alternative being presented.

I do this basically all the time if someone asks me about electronics or physics. I'm more educated than most people about those subjects, no questions asked, I've got a degree in it.
Like, asking "how does a wire work" is a 100% perfectly reasonable question, and basically impossible to answer to someone depending on what they're looking at, and what their education is.

I always used to say that if anyone was ever in the NYC area and they wanted to meet up and hang out I'd be up for hitting a bar and having a few drinks (and we were talking about maybe meeting up at Comic Con in the Geek topics for a bit), but those days are long past. I'm too old to really care now, and most of the worthwhile people have long since left.

It's my first job outside of university in my field. It's also good money, but yeah.

I'm planning on leaving, or at least making a heavy pull for a new job at the end of the year. I can actually argue that I'm not some shlup who barely got a degree and can do work.

I get 5 paid days off.

Yeah, I found myself with a similar problem, I had to cut out basically all algorithmically curated sources. YouTube is no subscription-only, no facebook or tiktok, or anything else.
That shit can just ruin your attention span.

Hey, hey my helly, that's not true at all.
You're not rubbing components together when you turn on your computer.

I can't shock myself with a computer when I turn it on in a dry day, I can shock myself by just shuffling around and touching a grounded wire.

You feel comfortable opening up your computer to take a look around.

The downside is you will have a false sense of confidence and poke around where you shouldn't.

Because if you don't like something, for whatever reason, people want to ask why.

Then you need to explain, say, you don't like a story element because it's dumb.

But you shouldn't care about it, because comedies are immune to criticism (I guess according to you), so it should be ok. But that doesn't mean suddenly someone likes something, just that the reason isn't valid (I guess???).

The few times I sat down and made plant-based meat-replacement-things, they weren't very good.

The average hand-eye coordination response of a human is 23ms.
A bad CPU works in the GHz range, which has a clock cycle of 1ns, which you're looking at a factor of 1000x faster. It's not a fair reference at *all* because of how computers work with multiple clock cycles, but, you can absolutely program a computer to be faster than a human. It's very easy once the setup is done.

Some context, I read a good portion of the comics a long, long time ago.

I thought it was good, there were a lot of choices to onboard people to the series, which was totally fine. There was one part that one of the new characters did to take away from one of the really interesting scenes, but I'm fine with looking past that. During The Oldest Game, Matthew helped push Dream to win, which was pretty shitty.

All of the actors were doing a great job even when things almost descent into a cgi mess, which is great.

I'm not getting into a self-driving car until it's mandated that ALL cars are.
No algorithm will ever account for the stupid shit a human driver may do, and I'm not gonna be stuck in a death trap when some yahoo swerves into my lane or something. I want full control for emergency maneuvers just in case.

Cheat days are a thing.

The idea behind a cheat day is that, while dieting, the amount of damage you can do to your diet, in that one day, is more calories than you can eat in the other 6 days.

People act like "oh, just have discipline" when someone's dieting, and, guess what, that shit's hard and why most diets fail. So you give yourself one day to look forward to, where you think about what you want to eat in that one day.

Most of the time what happens is someone goes on a diet, realizes that, oh fuck, I just somehow ate some fast food, I guess my diet is over. They get sad and dejected about it, then decide, fuck it, the entire diet is over.

You can't walk on a tightrope forever.

I really don't know anymore.

Oh that it will bring in more teachers, there was a big migration away from teaching during the pandemic because it's shit and doesn't pay well, and a lot of them were close to retired anyway.
It won't bring in good teachers, but it will have people to make sure there is at least someone to blame when there's a kid-riot.
