Yeah, I loved it too. It was bound to suffer in comparison to 2001, but I think it's a pretty underrated movie. The cold war of the 80s made the US/Russia stuff very compelling at the time.

I know how Gambit's powers work. I still think he thematically doesn't fit, but I've been outvoted & that's fine.

I never considered the X-Men sci-fi personally. While there are elements of that, there are also fantasy, supernatural, & horror elements. Comics tend to be a mishmash like that-- you could call the Avengers sci-fi, and if you nominated someone like Iron Man I wouldn't balk.

D) I love Fallout New Vegas even if it was buggy on launch because Bethesda rushed them. But then, I usually don't buy that type of game on launch because others like it (Skyrim) were also buggy messes on launch.

I'm sorry, but how exactly is Gambit a sci-fi character? He's a thief from 20th century New Orleans with magical playing cards. If you wanted to call Bishop or Cable sci-fi since they're time travelers form the future with laser guns, cybernetics, etc. I could see that but Gambit doesn't really fit the theme.
