Zasz is legit one of the best characters on the show lol
The best part about him is that he was never really more than a side character. Even among all the hero vs. big bad segments, Zasz would just pop in, deliver a quip, pop out, and we the audience would eat it all up. The actor really did the character justice.

Gotham had no right to be as good as It was. The casting g was phenomenal and every character chewed up the scenes they were in (in a good way).

Only Gotham could make characters like Zasz completely likeable and memorable.

Sword and Shield are ice friendly due to the Wild Area. You can find ice types after the first gym.

I try to sell people on Ducktales 2017 every chance I get. It's one of my favorite shows to come out in the last five years and arguably one of the best rebooted series I've personally seen. The writing is smart and full of heart, characters have much deeper / more unique personalities (especially Donald Duck, never thought I'd live to see Donald Frickin' Duck given actual depth and complexity), and the wealth of references / callbacks are thoughtful and world-expanding instead of just being memberberries.

Incidentally (since this observation has been bugging me for awhile but was never worth its own topic), I find it bitterly hilarious that the character of Mark Beaks was written to be a Mark Zuckerberg parody, but time has shown Beaks to be far more eerily reminiscent of Elon Musk.
I agree with this. Best reboot I have ever seen with writing that is unparalleled. I sing this shows praises every chance I get.

Ducktales 2017 is honestly one of the best reboots to have come out in the modern era. It's very cleverly-written, actually gives Huey, Dewey and Louie distinct personalities, finally gives Donald Duck some depth and makes him a sympathetic and likeable character, and rewards you for being a lifelong Disney fan with some very references / updates to old characters. All 3 seasons are on Disney+, I'd highly recommend giving it a try.
I 100% agree with this. As someone who dislikes reboots, I thoroughly enjoyed the show. All the characters are likeable. And the references to other shows and cameos aren't just there as Easter eggs. They are part of the world-building of that universe and it is done phenomenally. And I second the good treatment of Donald. I always hated how little he was in the original. This one makes him a central character along with the others.

This is incorrect. Statistically-speaking, lotto numbers are independent variables, and all competitions are independent of each other. That means that the success rate of one is independent of the success rate of the others.

So your chance of winning the lotto is exactly the same whether you play one time or 1,000,000 times, assuming you buy the same number of tickets each time.

Honestly, after having a foldable phone, I can never go back to the tiny screens of a regular phone. I hope these phones are here to stay.

Also, let me add some pros and cons since I'm already talking about it.

Pros:
Large screen for watching videos and reading articles
Stylus is smooth and feels good to take notes
Screen is very durable
The multi-window features is amazing and lets me use multiple apps at the same time (my favorite feature)
You can do a half-fold so that it works as its own stand for hands-free use and video-viewing

Cons:
Battery life isn't very good, will just barely last a whole day of heavy use; it's better if you use battery-saver mode
The software can get buggy when you constantly open and close the phone while using the app, which can crash your app you are using
Bulkier than most phones on the market out there
Expensive pricepoint to buy
Stylus and stylus-holder case have to be bought separately

Overall, the pros outdo the cons for me.

I'm actually quite surprised that the movie hasn't been ripped apart retroactively considering some of the scenes.

But I'm also surprised we haven't seen sequels or spinoffs using this concept. The "seeing a person's inner beauty on the outside" has so much potential outside of being fit/fat. Imagine movies in the same universe where other people are affected with the condition, where this can affect the entire fashion industry, high school cliques, and even the media like TV shows, movies, and A-List celebrities. The plotlines with this concept are limitless.

I do it weekly. It' the best feeling in the world. The amount of positivity you find at those events (from both the volunteers and those you are helping) is very refreshing. It really turns a sour day into a better one and is a good stress reliever.

I've helped with mobile food pantries, setting up church thrift stores, delivering food and supplies to the homeless, serving at a soup kitchen, picking up litter down the highway, mowing yards and painting houses for single moms and the elderly, gardening, and building houses. I really recommend everyone tries it. It changes your outlook on life.

Also, I'm married, so this doesn't apply to me, but it's a great place to meet women. I've had two volunteers ask me out during these things (in each case I didn't have my wedding ring on due to the hands-on work we were doing). It shouldn't be your main motivation, but it is a good opportunity to meet people.

The problem is that most career guidance that students get in college list average salaries for their chosen career fields, not starting salaries.

The problem with average salaries is that it takes salaries from people of all levels of experience, from entry-level to senior, and the high wages pull that average salary up.

You don't find a lot of career counselors in college or websites talking about the entry level salaries in most careers, one, because that's hard to quantify, and two, because those that do quantify it show that they are usually really, really low. Then there's the whole question of what is an entry-level job? When you have "entry-level jobs" that require 3-5 years of experience, those "starter" salaries are going to push the average up, when most college grads won't realistically be getting those jobs.

It's not college students being dumb, it's just that their perspective is skewed due to the guidance they receive. They don't have the benefit of hindsight like college graduates do.

I like 2 and 3 for different reasons.

2 had really great pacing. The levels were fast and intuitive to run through (at least until Metropolis Zone). It was a great game to focus on speed with the occasional platforming.

3 slowed the game down just a bit to add more platforming in between speed sections. This allowed for better use of Sonic's abilities with the shields, and also provided interesting gimmicks for the longer levels.

I don't think I could say I like one more than the other, because I appreciate each for what it brought to the table.

And meanwhile, you have employee spying software inching its way into industries:
https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2022/apr/27/remote-work-software-home-surveillance-computer-monitoring-pandemic

A survey last September by review site Digital.com of 1,250 US employers found 60% with remote employees are using work monitoring software of some type, most commonly to track web browsing and application use. Andalmost nine out of 10 of the companies said they had terminated workers after implementing monitoring software.

The number and array of tools now on offer to continuously monitor employees digital activity and provide feedback to managers is remarkable. Tracking technology can also log keystrokes, take screenshots, record mouse movements, activate webcams and microphones, or periodically snap pictures without employees knowing. And a growing subset incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) and complex algorithms to make sense of the data being collected.

One AI monitoring technology, Veriato, gives workers a daily risk score which indicates the likelihood they pose a security threat to their employer. This could be because they may accidentally leak something, or because they intend to steal data or intellectual property.

The score is made up from many components, but it includes what an AI sees when it examines the text of a workers emails and chats to purportedly determine their sentiment, or changes in it, that can point towards disgruntlement. The company can then subject those people to closer examination.

TEAMS has the worst possible status feature.

Back when we used Skype, the status features were more robust. You could create specific statuses to let people know what you were up to, and you didn't go into inactive until like 20-30 minutes of no computer activity. Then you just move the mouse and you're shown as active again.

But in TEAMS, not only can you not edit/create your statuses, but it goes from active to inactive in like 5 minutes. And the feature is buggy, so sometimes you have to move your mouse all over the place and open a few windows before it recognizes you as active again.

Fortunately for me, my job doesn't use that feature to track employees, but they do at my wife's job, and she finds it really stressful because it'll move to inactive when she's just reading a long document on her computer and not moving the mouse around and then she spends like a whole minute putting it back on active status so it doesn't look like she stepped away from her computer.

Like others in this topic, I don't like drinking and have no problem with people that do. Personally, I just don't like the taste of alcohol, so why drink something that I don't like?

My issue is that my job involves a lot of after-hours business functions to network and meet with potential clients. Most of these events have open bars, and sure enough, I always get asked why I'm not drinking. When I explain that I just don't like alcohol, the responses range from "oh" to weirdness. I think I've even lost clients when they find out I don't drink.

One thing I've done to help is to do a one-drink rule. Since I often get offered a drink at these functions, I will accept the first drink offered to me, then stop there. I've found that tends to make people feel better, just the fact that I partook in it even if I refuse refills.

Society is weird.

How do you know if anything you see is real if you can just imagine whatever you want?

No joke, I actually try to avoid lying for this exact reason.

When I lie about having done something that I didn't, or lie about needing to do something to get out of a commitment, I will imagine myself doing that thing.

Days later, the image will pop up into my head as something I already did and I confuse it with a memory and not a lie I made up. I have to actually run through the whole "memory" in my head to see what happens next, and if I realize that the memory just ends, then it was just something that I made up and didn't actually happen to me.

Other times, I'll tell someone "I can't do x because I have to do y", when "y" is a lie I made up cause I don't want to hang out, then later in that evening before bed, I'm like "oh crap, I forgot to do y", and it takes me a moment to realize that I didn't really need to do it, but I definitely imagined myself doing it.

I don't know what the exact bar is for declaring oneself a 'professional' VA, but Ben voiced Dewey Duck for three seasons of the Ducktales reboot (which is pretty much the same voice he used for Sonic).
I've always considered a VA actor to be one that professionally creates character voices for a specific animated character. Like Tara Strong voices several cartoons that you wouldn't know was Tara strong unless you were listening for it, as she disguises her natural voice to fit the character.

Meanwhile, you have actors like George Lopez who throw in their voice to many animated movies, but in all those movies the characters just sound like George Lopez. Did he provide his voice for animated characters? Yes, but I wouldn't consider him a professional VA actor. Just an actor doing VA work.

I'd put Ben in the second camp, unless he's done specific work where he makes unique voices for different characters.
