Nah, his decline was already showing in the last Cards season where they won the world series.
If i recall it was the first season his average dipped bellow .300
And from then on, he never hit above that again. The injuries also didn't help.

The Baseball HoF is kind of a joke now that they rejected Bonds and others. Not really relevant anymore until they overhaul their voting system.

Bonds was juicing obviously though. He only hit over 50hr's in just one season and that was in the 73hr year.

Plus he was an overall dick to sports writers who vote the HoF.

I agree Bonds was the best hitter but you can't deny roids didn't help inflate his stats.

Would have broke the all-time record but his production declined hard after he went to the angels.

America isn't that good mainly cause they pretty much have have low tier academies to develop talent.
Wheras the top tier nations like France or Spain are recruiting kids as young as 4-6 years and are signing contracts with top tier football clubs like real madrid and barcelona.
If these clubs do find a wonderkid in america, the kid's parents are apprehensive about leaving america to send their kid to Spain to train full time and graduate to the main squad. It's what pretty much happened with Freddy Adu where his parents didn't want him going to Europe to hone his skills against better talent and had him stay at home against shitty mls competition.
