Read the (current) remainder of Ablaze's Conan, People of the Black Circle, Beyond the Black River, Hour of the Dragon. All three are pretty great in prose but I didn't much like their adaptations; art was too European in the Hindustan setting of Black Circle and the "writer" changed waaaay too much of the plot; Black River didn't have the right feel of a noob playing catch up with Conan (who had a waaaay too modern haircut); and Hour of the Dragon kinda wrecked the twist plot wise/had painted art, which didn't translate well to dynamic action.

Finished Hitman. Beginning was really strong on the re-read but I think the back half kinda suffered from already "knowing." Endings were still great, though.

Taking a brief hiatus and gonna read House of M because there are a lot of references to it that I'm not getting. Looks like its 8 books, expanded options but I may just stick to these few and go back to AXM.

Finished Weird Science. While Fantasy's stand out stories really hit hard, I think Science had greater writing and art quality in general ignoring the two incest stories <_<

Finished Weird Fantasy. Some really awesome sci fi in there and solid stable of artists. IMO Wally Wood and Jack Kamen drew the best chicks, Al Williamson did the best "monsters" and Joe Orlando the best all arounder.
Top three stories for me were "By George!!!," "The Aliens" and "Judgment Day."

I'm digging Armor as a character, I think Astonishing is her first appearance, her and Wolverine talking about a name in book 14 or so. Those two seem to be developing a fun relationship.

I bought the Transformers/Terminator crossover, and the Transformers/Back to the Future crossover comics.

I love crossovers with things that have absolutely nothing in common. The more incongruous, the better.

Probably my most valuable comic is a Wolverine #10, I traded for it in school for an X-Men #3 from the 1990s X-Men series, which at the time was a fairly new comic.

Started The Astonishing X-Men series, about 6 books in of 64 I believe. Began with the first 2004 series that Joss Whedon wrote.

Apparently it's known for avoiding events, which is admirable.

Finished up the X trilogy today. Earth is the best, most well written from start to finish of the three, with the "moodiest" art.
Universe had some great scenes especially towards the end and Black Knight's design was rad. Buzz and Chuck stole every panel they were in, too.

Paradise I'd rate last; I think Krueger/Ross were spinning their wheels by then, not nearly as many neat ideas and the writing was kinda dense. The appearance of the "alternates" makes me wonder if there was some editorial meddling for Exiles synergy. I dunno. Ragnarok mini was excellent though, I'd read that again any day.
