There is a false equivalency here. Namely that the suffering of an animal is inherently equal to the suffering of a human. While it's true most people want animals treated at least somewhat humanely, the fact is we're discussing non-sentient beings reared specifically for food in a world in which omnivores and carnivores are not exactly 'rare' (and almost entirely more painful in their kills than humans). These animals are not even considered to be companions to humans. So while I can understand someone being outraged at the slaughter of, say, a dog because dogs are considered to be human pets which people often form close bonds to, occasionally reaching the same level as a bond with a human, this doesn't hold true for a cow or chicken.

Additionally a lot of the 'preachy ones' frequently intend to force their own, personal, choice upon others without even giving them the option to dissent. I.E. they want all meat banned meaning you would have no choice but to go vegan or starve. Granted this is a minority of a minority, but it's also an EXTREMELY VOCAL minority of said minority. That other vegans only rarely, if ever, condemn them makes it worse. At least atheists tend to advocate for a personal choice and condemn the people who actively try to make atheism absolute.

I was vegan from age 11-13 because of a teacher who convinced me its the only way to become immortal.

I spent two whole years that way. Then my family had a huge get together. I turned down meat the first day. On the second day they killed a pig. I still turned it down. On day 3 I smelled the shishkabobs on the grill and something came over me a thought I assume its the same one that gay guys have when they first discover their sexuality and that thought is Life isnt worth living without meat in my mouth!

So just like that I stopped being a vegan overnight.

I knew a guy that wanted to lose weight. I said to him, Perfect! Ive boxed for years, and have trained hundreds of people. Ill train you for free. 3 times a week, at least 2hrs per session. Thats free one on one attention. He was showing great progress but about 2 weeks in he quit to join a kickboxing club. It was 8 classes, an hour long each, one class a week, in a group setting for $500. Some Rex Kwon Do type shit.

That taught me that some people really just want to be like part of the club more than anything in the world.

Man, X was so much fun to play and run around in. It had a ton of problems but it's still my favorite open world game (though I suspect Elden Ring will topple it once I find the time to play that).

I played a good portion of the first area in Elden Ring and then decided to spoil the entire map by searching online. I was curious. When I saw the whole world I thought, This game isnt that big. But after actually trekking the map myself, and Im still not even fully done, I have to say that its fucking massive. I like it better than BotW. That says a lot.
