This is not okay! I absolutely hate these kinds of lyrics. That chanting and whatever. I cannot stand it. It's really just not my thing. There's a couple things going on that aren't the lyrics that are maybe a little cool... but that's the only positive thing I'll have to say.

Seriously, this has got to be one of the most generic battle themes I've ever heard. It has absolutely zero personality. The only thing I can remember after just listening to it is that there's drums and there's a trumpet. I think the most egregious thing about it is the drop into the "epic" part which ends up being the most boring part of the song LOL.

Sadness...

There's a few times during this that if the chords chosen were slliiiiiightly different, then I might enjoy it a lot more. Nothing crazy like, but it just plays it a bit too safely, no where it goes it rather all that exciting. It's OK in the end, just bores me :x

Most of your examples have an energetic/tense/dark-ish feeling to them, so this pick might be missing the point entirely lol. But as I was thinking over soundtracks fron more niche games, this is the one that stuck out for some reason

To a Distant Place!

A future where this song is a lot higher for me is not so distant... I really like the sounds and instruments used, they all work well together. It doesn't do what I want it to, plain and simple though. It's almost there a few times and I can't really explain in any terms what I mean by doing what I want it to, but the way the melody progresses just doesn't excite me. It's kind of just there.

So. Let me just say that I really enjoy the sounds and instruments used to make this. It's all super cool and they work super well together. That being said, the melody... or more lack of one, isssss a bit of a big miss for me. It makes me wish there was a song using these kinds of instruments and effects to create something that I actually like. I was hoping it would take a turn in a way where it excites me, but it just doesn't, and that's a bit sad, wouldn't you say?

This is my jam!

Well... sorta. It's uh... always going 100, never stopping. And that's a bit much for me. There's a lot of things that this does right that sounds pleasant to me, but the speed and energy it brings kind of tires me out after about a minute or so, it's hard to put my finger on exactly. If I was playing this in a game and this was some battle or boss music, yeah it'd be pretty hype and fun... but it's just not quite sticking with me.

Hard one to figure out...

The Path of Boring... and a bit of good!

This was INCREDIBLY boring to me and I was a bit disappointed that that was all I was going to get... but it DOES have a good part! Right at 0:41!

So one thing that my mind does while listening to music for the first time, or sometimes just in general, is that it will fill in where I think the next notes or beats will go before it happens, often in a pleasant way. As I'm listening, I'll be like, oh god if it does THIS then that will be awesome. But so many times I'll be disappointed in the direction that it actually took. This happens multiple times during this track. I can picture in my head multiple ways that the notes might lead into next... but they can of just do a more neutral / boring approach that doesn't excite me.
