Peter makes a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May but it costs him his marriage with MJ and his unborn child. There was a lot of really good build up to Peter moving past Aunt May's death but then they decided to just shit on everything. Makes no sense since May would want Peter to stay with MJ. So everyone forgets Peter's identity as Spider-Man, May comes back to life and Peter and MJ aren't together anymore.
