No one in the Confederacy was ever held accountable, no one involved in the business plot was ever held accountable. Nixon nor Kissinger were held accountable for sabotaging the Johnson administration's peace talks that could have ended the Vietnam war. Reagan was allowed to get away with Iran Contra, W and Cheney got away with any number of war crimes.

You are trained to shoot center mass yes. Most cops I've met are also bad shots. Besides that it's one thing to shoot accurately on a range.
It's entirely different in a situation where your nerves are cranked to 11 and your adrenaline is pumping. Which is why so many cops fire 10-15 rounds and only hit 2 or 3 times.

That's why I think shame is most effective. It's how you discipline kids. I was a substitute teacher for awhile and the #1 way to make kids behave was by the threat of embarrassing them in front of the class. These people are already acting like kids anyway.

Idk I've been through violence before I think it's why I'm so resistant. I just think we should stop hyping these people up. I used to see the Q crew waving their "Stop the Steal" flags over the highway and I just ignored them like I would a cracked out homeless person. That's the kinda vibes I get from them.

Social consequences only work during the lead up to the violence or as a fear of what happens after the violence. If they think that the people who would shame them are going to be dead or to intimidated to shame then it doesn't work. So while I appreciate your stance here I am telling you that the violence is coming (and I'm telling you this because the fascists have openly said it is) and you will have a choice, either let the violence happen or attempt to help those on the receiving end of it. Quite often the only way to help those on the receiving end is to return that violence upon the people who started it.

It should be noted that it was another TPUSA event where someone in the crowd asked Charlie Kirk when they could start using their guns against the dems.

Most of us have realized that not fucking these people up is what has enabled them to become the shitbags that they are. There was a time when starting shit like this would get your jaw broken but liberals and enlightened centrist types managed to convince people that taking the high road was better. That high road is what has gotten us here. Time to try something different.

As a personal aside my own breaking point was during the middle part of COVID "lockdowns" when the morons started getting really aggressive and I had to put myself between a shithead and a teenage Target employee that he was screaming at. I was in that moment, and still am, fully prepared to either kick the shit out of those people, or get the shit kicked out of me, rather than allow people to be picked on or assaulted. Luckily in this particular case the dude backed down because most of them are absolute cowards whose balls shrink the instant you get in their face and they realize that there might be consequences to their behavior.

The easiest way to deal with dude is to get him riled up enough that he puts his hands on you in some way and then just beat him into unconsciousness.

Agreed, but I went into it with very little expectation of it being a good adaption. The source material is too deep and filled with lore to make a good adaptation. 14 books, a bajillion or so viewpoint characters, 13 forsaken plus other assorted villains. It's damn near impossible.

Tolkien presents it more like a historical compendium than an actual story which is why it can be a slog.

That is the book with the most content and complex lore is why, it is the only book that even hardcore Tolkien fans have trouble getting through and keeping track of plots/characters.

It's mostly the first 4 or so chapters that are the most difficult. That's where the creation of the world and it's people is chronicled. It's also where all the relations of the major bloodlines of the Elves are laid out. It's fucking dense as fuck. After that it mostly moves into a broad history narrative of individuals and peoples.

He was the same as Gandalf, a demi god. He could take whatever form he wanted and was super charismatic and charming. After some events in the 2nd age his body was destroyed and he was cursed to never be able to take a form fair to look upon ever again.

I hate that the series went bad because the AI in the first game was amazing.

No because a huge chunk of Missouri voters are people who have never been more than about 20 miles from their tiny little rural town. And usually that town is entirely made up of white people. Some of them are decent towns filled with decent people. Some of them are like Sullivan, which was still a sundown town when I was a kid. But when you've never spent any time with someone who doesn't look or think like you it's very easy to swallow the GOP narrative of "nonwhite people = bad".
