Don't forget that AT THE TIME, Religious beliefs were legitimately the rational option. Sacrifices as population control, tithes to finance infrastructure and the like were a boon to early man.

Pretty sure ripping the hearts out of your enemies wasn't related to population control, even unintentionally.

i think people just want an accurate portrayal of the thing they loved. so when there is an obvious change, the red flags start waving. at least that's my opinion.

Yeah, if it's an improvement, people will generally come to accept it, like how Nick Fury is Samuel L. Jackson now in the main timeline, or whatever you want to call it. Sometimes mixing it up adds something, these days it's mostly "let's be progressive and make sure to check off all the diversity boxes!" There's a reason nobody ever took the BK Kids Club very seriously :P

If you're that dependent on others for approval then you should really consider seeing a therapist. They can do a lot of wonders for helping with anxiety, with or without medicine, if you don't want to go that way. Mental health can be frustrating because it's not something other people can see, but it's nonetheless very real and your happiness is just going to suffer if you don't get help.

Or maybe based on other comments this whole thread's a joke in which case lmao I tried ^^u

We should try to help refugees by setting up safe zones where they are, not in other countries.

Their culture is incompatible with the west. I don't want what happened in Germany with thousands of lone wolf Muslim men forming rape gangs and attacking women. Or what's happening in other countries with refugees going terrorist.

Transgender arguments HURT equality.

If guy can do anything girl can do... and girl can do anything guy can do... then we should NOT be condoning people trying to get risky gender reassignment surgery, or humoring people who want to be called by weird pronouns. The two arguments are mutually incompatible. You can't say both sexes are equal and then support people who feel they can only be happy if they're seen as the opposite sex.

I have a huge range of genres on my phone and when driving I don't have time to skip through the ones I'm not in the mood for. It's faster to just flick channels for different genres then to try to flick through a phone.

I work retail.

I've had customers s**t on the floor and leave... other... fluids in the bathroom.

I've had a customer complain to me why am I putting a kid's book in the kid's section when someone will find it there and it won't be around long enough to get discounted.

I've had a woman come in and try to return a coat she bought over a year ago, complaining it was a men's coat but had been in the women's section. When we explained our return policy (one week) she flipped out because it used to be two weeks, even though even then it wouldn't apply to her. She then proceed to grandly declare she was never shopping HERE again and storm out.

So uh, no. HELL no, the customer is not always right. You should always try to be courteous, but some of them are just goddamn crazy.

No. The media should focus on people being ok with who they are WITHOUT feeling they 'must' have potentially life-threatening cosmetic surgery just to be 'themselves.'

Telling guys it's ok to be 'girly?' Yes.
Telling girls it's ok to be 'manly?' Yes.
Telling people it's ok to invade the other gender's bathroom / changing room / whatever, get offended when people don't properly refer to them as it / xe / alien furry crossgender they, and insist the only way to be who they were meant to be is to get surgery? NO.

I'm so tired of people insisting girls have to wear dresses or have kids or people telling guys they can't cry or just be friends with women. But I'm equally as tired of the last group.

Ehhh, I wish I'd utilized it more effectively--you need to remember this is a gateway to a job, and start building connections and skill sets for where you want to go. I'd certainly not recommend people DON'T go, though. I'm stuck at a min wage job and I'm surrounded by older people who never went to college and have almost no hope of ever moving up in the world. So go, just make sure you really put a lot of thought into what you need to get out of it.

You'll be fine. I live north and I've gone south plenty of times and nothing's ever happened. Unless you go out way into hickland it's no different than up north. Just warmer, sunnier, and with more cool animals and nice beaches B)

It'll never happen. Maybe instead they could haul people off and stick them cold turkey in jail until they get over it.

I have OCD and hoarding disorders, I know how the pull of addiction feels, but the people who aren't doing anything to try to get help and recover don't deserve the time and effort. Use those resources to help people who DO want to improve their lives.

If your friends / parents are horrid enough to let you starve, you need new friends and to never talk to your parents again.

Friends and family are there to help each other. That's what they do. Needing help when you're really down on your luck is not the same as being a dependent mooch, and you shouldn't be ashamed to ask for it, nor should they be so heartless as to refuse it.

If your parents are garbage, do you have no cousins / aunts / uncles / grandparents / siblings / insert other relatives here who would help you? If your entire family is garbage then you have my deepest condolences and a food pantry is probably the way to go.

Haven't smoked and don't want to, I dislike not being in control of myself.

Fairly neutral on legalization, I find people who abuse it annoying and worry legalizing it would make them more common, but on the other hand the same is true of alcohol and that's legal so...

I should do some reading on how things are going in states where it's legal. If everything's pretty safe then just legalize it and treat it like alcohol (i.e. no being high in public, driving while high, age limit...)

Of all the Pokemon games to score perfectly, it had to be Black/White? Ugh.

They were great, though. First story in a Pokémon game that's actually made me think, nice supporting characters, the wise addition of animated sprites. Sun and Moon are the only other real contenders and those took years after to release.

Haven't played all of them but I'd say Nintendogs hands down.

Let me tell you a story about Nintendogs. When it had just come out I was a youngster adamant about getting it. While waiting to check out I played the demo and within two minutes I thought... this is boring. But surely the REAL thing has more content??

It didn't. What a boring and repetitive game. I didn't know it got a perfect review and am honestly amazed it did. Get yourself a real dog, kids, the fake thing is no good.
