They're black according to the one-drop rule, much like how Obama was widely viewed as only black instead of mixed. Either you're terrible at expressing yourself efficiently since that would mean that you mean black to mean only a specific subset of black people, which you failed to disclose, or you're just not being sincere with one of your statements.

I still think we never had a black president. So, you can "shoo" now. You need two black parents to be black. Or one black and mulatto and You'll be mostly black, sir. One-drop rule is stupid and it was always stupid. It made up by racist white men who wanted only two white couples and no outsiders.

This is something I had to come to terms with too. Being mixed race I always thought that I had to identify with the race I looked more as.

Then after a while I realized I'm neither fully white nor middle eastern. I'm mixed race, my own thing.

Both of these statements are nonsense. Most Black Americans could be considered "mixed", as many of us have ancestry including Native American or European DNA in addition to our Sub-Saharan DNA. So people that appear "black" would actually be "mixed" by your qualifications. If Barack Obama isn't black, what are his kids? The discussion of whether being mixed actually matters to people's perception of you is laughable.

Kids of people who came here, and don't have official citizenship - so only know America and have no place to go.

So what if they are adults now? Did they have a choice to leave their parents and go back to their home country? Children cannot adjust status or apply for citizenship on their own. Legally, this is an issue that has long been unaddressed with no options for people who end up in this situation. It's a failure of law and failure of Congress to fix it.

Yuck at the posts in this topic. Regardless of whether it was their parents that brung them here or if they were fucking kidnapped, they were smuggled into the US during a time where they had no control (legal control or not) of whether they needed to follow the law or not. It's inhumane to just dump people into foreign lands where they don't have good chance to survive because they can't speak the language, have living arrangements, or have a job to economically support themselves.

The US failed to secure the border and enforce immigration policy well enough to prevent situations like this, so we need to deal with the consequences and deal with their livelihoods humanely.

10 pounds in a month would be possible if you were on a very strict diet and remained in a caloric deficit the whole month, but as your weight goes down you'd have to adjust your calories to maintain a high rate of loss. That also would be mostly "off the top" water weight. The easy weight to lose. Also, loose skin is real, so you definitely don't want to drastically lose weight that fast without maintaining or building muscle to fill out your body. This isn't a question that can really be answered in a generic manner. You have to plug in the numbers, exercise, see how your body reacts to it, and apply weight loss principles.

Get comfortable with the process of dieting and exercising too. When you do that for your lifestyle, you become more satisfied with progress you're able to achieve rather than crash dieting/exercising.

MSNBC might have a liberal slant, but their reporting is spot on most of the time. Shows like Rachel Maddow tend to always find historic context or a little known story to current issues to really get a grasp of what they're reporting. CNN is OK, but I've grown tired with their push to be moderate by having nutjobs like Jeffrey Lord as commentators. CNN is also very boring to watch as they recycle news throughout the day.

I sure hope so with that few miles. But this powertrain is one of the most reliable ones around save for the battery needing to be replaced down the line.

Played both OG and Twin Snakes on release on their original platform. Twin Snakes has the better gameplay, while MGS has this vintage feel to it without all of the over the top cutscenes. I prefer Twin Snakes.

I always find it weird when they put Black Panther in stories centered around the American experience, when he's also the antithesis to that in most of the comics. I don't mind the flashback reported to be in the movie where it's set in the Bay area during his schools years (This is absolutely true to life for many Africans), but BP isn't really a street level character.

The cinematography in this movie is amazing and does a lot of the storytelling and mood setting. In that regard, it's really unmatched in terms of a coming of age drama film. There are things like the influence of Juan on Chiron, who grows to mimic him as he reaches adulthood. There's also the dynamic of him not embracing his sexuality as it was a source of pain throughout his childhood. It's a movie that breaks down a complex person in a clean and artistically pleasing manner.
