Good: places to eat, hiking trails, Griffith Observatory (free all day), Hollywood walk of fame (gets kinda seedy after dark), in ktown there's tons of Kareoke bars, a few tasty Korean restaurants in the mall off of 5th and Vermont, Mr. Basams (check that out, fucking bomb, The brass Monkey (a karaoke bar that stars like Seth McFarlane are known to frequent) plus a bunch of new, high class shops at Vermont and Wilshire... tons of interesting little Korean owned shops. Also, Tom and Toms coffee is the Korean version of Starbucks.

One thing to keep in mind about ktown (oddly enough, I lived there for 4 years), is that the town is very ethnocentric. After the L.A. riots, the Rodney King incident that caused many people to rob Korean owned stores, placed a negative stigma on non Korean cultures. So, you're black, and a lot of Koreans may give you an attitude. Word to the wise, don't take it personally, they stick to their own, and the younger, more Americanized Korean peeps aren't like that.

Finally, parking is a bitch, so take the metro and busses to get around. If you for extra cash, uber/lift. If you guys happen to be in hollywood, definitely check out the Ghiradeli chocolate shop next to the El Capitan theater. The shakes/deserts are fucking delectable. Just watch out for the hoard of Scientologists (Tom Cruise's Pokeman) who will try to convert you, as you explore the area.

There's a ton more in the Santa Monica, Beverly hills, Burbank, Culver City, West La, downtown, Little Tokyo areas, but it basically depend on your funds.
