Right. All I am saying is that physical capabilities are the focus and primary skill in athletic sports. And mental capabilities are the focus and primary skill in so called eSports. Dexterity and strategy play a role in both kinds of competition, but the balance of importance is inverted.

I never argued that strategy is not important, I argued that athleticism is most important and strategy allows your athleticism to be applied fully.

whereas it is the reverse in most esports, Strategy is the deciding factor and execution gives the edge.

Not primarily. Athletics primarily reward physical ability to do something first, and require little knowledge of how to accomplish said thing. (Throw a complete pass, dodge a tackle, hit a homerun, Run as fast as possible, etc.) Knowledge of the game and strategy does matter, but a players physical capability is most important.

'eSports' on the other hand reward planning and knowledge of the game first, and execution second. In an RTS or Moba you are highly rewarded for tight counterplay, knowing what units to produce/items to buy at what time, and the capabilities of all units and characters.

I guess a short comparison would be that Esport players fill the same role that the coach does in athletic sports.
