Luster Soldier: This is definitely the worst Pseudo-Legendary line we've ever gotten. Jangmo-o is the only Pokemon from this line that could even qualify as being cute (and even then, just barely).

mnkboy907: Rock/Electric is a cool type combo, and the design is nice too. I understand people calling it ugly, but I think it works. Pulls off the magnetic metal fragments much better than Probopass.

Inviso: It looks like a taser and has a unique typing. I'm okay with this. Doesn't light my world on fire, but at least it's an Alolan form that feels worthwhile.

ctes: The idea to make this rock/electric is very sad. Gound was absolutely the type to keep and I would've loved this line. But just like Tyranitar, rock is apparently the favorable type of the two. Game Freak likes rock way more than they should. Now it's a pretty bad combination and Golem isn't too fun to use as a result. The design is fun, but there was absolutely no reason for this idea to be Golem.

XIII: Loyalty to Pokemon I use. It's pretty fun, but lacks real offensive bite. Still, enjoyable and I like a good signature move.

Raka_Putra: Heck yeah time to put dominatrix in a game meant for children

ctes: Tsareena is pretty great. A decent team choice if you're not using Decidueye, which is easily the best grass type. It looks slightly weird, but its design works. It's got a decent stat distribution. While its speed stat is nothing to brag about, it still outclasses way too much of the generation with it. It can hit super hard and can take hits too. It's a bit weird that they made it mono-grass, when it seems like it could've been fighting. It's high jump kick could've been quite devastating if it was 1.5x of what it is now. Regardless, it's a pretty good Pokemon.

Luster Soldier: Grass type seems to have an unusually high number of feminine looking Pokemon for some reason. Tsareena is another Pokemon in a fairly good sized list of feminine Grass type Pokemon. Although I like this Pokemon, it does some issues preventing it from being much higher on my list (at least in the top 20). In the design of this Pokemon, the upper body looks rather awkward compared to the lower body. The face looks quite odd as well, as I'd assume it has a mouth, except that it appears to be hidden from view due to the way the Pokemon was designed. Unlike Lurantis, at least Tsareena get the better raw deal among the 2 new feminine Grass types introduced this generation. Tsareena received better stats, movepool, and ability compared to what Lurantis got.

mnkboy907: It's no Lilligant, that's for sure. It's still good, but like Solgaleo, there's something holding it back. I think it's just the art style. My first bred shiny of Gen VII, too.

Brayze_II: the least sexy tapu, I think this is a dick but I mean really

mnkboy907: Terrakion take two. I like it the best of the Tapus but I just know it's gonna be ranked lowest.

Luster Soldier: I consider this the weakest member of the Tapus, at least in terms of design compared to the 3 other Tapus. Tapu Koko has the cool factor going for it, and I love Tapu Lele and Tapu Fini for being cute/feminine. No idea where Tapu Bulu fits in among the other 3 Tapus. It's got a chance of finishing above the 2 feminine Tapus just because people usually hate feminine Pokemon with relatively few exceptions, but it's got no chance against Tapu Koko.

ctes: Tapu Bulu does look interesting, but among four cool guardians, it's the one I like the least. Grassy Terrain isn't too great and Grass / Fairy is definiely the least cool of the four, not only because it's the only one that comes with a double weakness. Still, Tapu Bulu is a cool Pokemon even if outclasses by its co-guardians.

swordz9: The one nobody cares about in the group

Cybat: It's a weird looking bull wearing a giant flower sombrero. And Grassy Terrain is probably the worst of the four terrains. I do always appreciate grass legendaries though.

Inviso: The most forgettable Tapu for me. It's just generic for a legendary.

Ermine: A shame all of the Tapus are awful except for Koko.

Paratroopa1: yeah the other tapus kind of fucking own and then there's this guy who's like... I dunno he's fine but I can't really make sense of his geometry he's got a weird situation going maybe I'm being too harsh

OrangeCrush: As a whole I'm not a huge fan of Gen 7's new Pokemon, but Gamefreak struck it out of the park with the Ultra Beasts. They have great Lovecraftian designs as well as interesting typing and stats. Nihilego, Pheromosa, and Xurkitree stand out the most to me, partially because Lillie, Lusamine, and mah boi Guzma resemble them respectively, and that that was probably Lusamine's intention. And of those 3, Pheromosa is the funnest to use in battle.

Luster Soldier: Despite being the most feminine looking Ultra Beast, it's actually not winning the rule 34 battle among the other Ultra Beasts. It has the second most rule 34 out of the Ultra Beasts, with only Nihilego having even more rule 34 than Pheromosa. The only reason Nihilego has more rule 34 than Pheromosa is because of Lusamine and the role she has in the story (which I won't go into detail here).

This Ultra Beast was the most controversial one after the Gen VII metagame began on Smogon. The extremely high speed made it difficult to outspeed Pheromosa, generally requiring a Choice Scarfer and that might not be enough speed if Pheromosa has already picked up a speed boost from the Beast Boost ability. With access to U-turn, it can escape from unfavorable match-ups. Although priority is Pheromosa's biggest weakness, this can be neutralized with Psychic Terrain support from Tapu Lele. All of this led to calls for a quick ban from OU. A suspect test was later hosted, with the end result of Pheromosa getting banned from OU and banished to Ubers.

ctes: Phermosa is really simple and threatening by a design. It's also insanely threatening with its extremely stat distribution that also kicked it forever out of OU. I really do like how it looks. My favorite Ultra Beasts is not this, but it's a very close second!

Cybat: Apt name. Man is this thing weird - it looks like it should be a Star Wars species or something. Which I guess was the point.

hotdogturtle: This Pokemon is literally a katamari, of course it's my favorite. Plus it comes in 8 nice colors (though I'm disappointed that there's no real red for Miso)

Cybat: Yet another single-stage Pokemon with not quite enough to be useful by itself. Its fun concept, face, and different colors give this thing a surprising amount of functionality; too bad it can't capitalize on it with better stats.

swordz9: Better than Solrock and Lunatone

Luster Soldier: Another Pokemon with a in-battle form changing ability. The form that Minior has above 50% HP is nothing special in terms of design, but it loses its outer shell once it goes below 50% HP. The loss of the outer shell reveals a Pokemon that looks cute and the inner core can be one of 7 different colors. The base stats also change upon losing the other shell, turning it from a defensive Pokemon to offensive Pokemon. Catching a Minior in-game can be a challenge, since it can use Self-Destruct. This can be a problem if you were able to encounter a shiny in the wild.

Inviso: Would be better if it was just core form all the time, but it's still pretty fast at least.

Paratroopa1: well this guy's pretty rad until the armor comes off and then it's downhill from there. dunno what the deal is with his pasted on face there. what's your favorite flavor mine is GRAPE

ctes: Minior sucks honestly. First of all, there is absolutely no reason to have that many colors. And I think they went overboard with changing forms and stuff upon reaching a certain percentage of HP. The core has a nice statdistribution compared to the stall, but it's pretty hard to control, making it pointless. Aegislash has King's Shield, a very nice way to switch between forms. Minior has certain circumstances, it's just stupid and annoying and they should really cut down on these trash gimmicks.

Inviso: Ice/Fighting is a unique combination of a favorite typing of mine (Fighting) and an underrepresented typing (Ice) combined into a solid fighter. I'm perfectly sold on this dude.

Luster Soldier: Ignoring the Alolan Forms, this was the only new Ice type Pokemon we got this generation from the main Gen VII Pokemon. The Ice type really got shafted hard this generation.

ctes: Crabominable is a complete abomination. It's horrendously bad lookingly looking to begin with. It's insane how awful you can make a design every now and then. It doesn't even end there. This thing is utter trash. You get this thing ridiculously late in the game. There is a point where you think Game Freak sometimes decides to make bad decisions to assure they have things to improve on in the future. It matters s*** that it makes sense how it gains its ice type at Mount Lanakila, when they decided to make that the very last place you get to, then the idea of this evolution should be out the window. Fighting/Ice, while unique, is also a pretty bad typing. This Pokemon is not worth the wait in the slightest.

OrangeCrush: Truly a crabomination.

Brayze_II: I decided to breed one of these on a lark and wound up with a perfect shiny one, which is sort of like winning a curling iron as a door prize. Two things I’m never going to use that are pointless to bring to a pokemon battle.

Cybat: What the hell were they thinking with this thing. You get access to Crabrawler so early but then you can't evolve him until the very end of the game? And when you do he LOSES SPEED?! (And, as a bonus, looks like a doofus)

Luster Soldier: The Ultra Beast that's not actually an Ultra Beast. Yep, despite a design that had most people convinced it was an Ultra Beast when all of the remaining Pokemon were revealed in the demo datamine, it ends up being a regular Pokemon (a legendary, though). Necrozma was thought to be the third legendary counterpart to Solgaleo and Lunala, and this appears to have been confirmed with the reveal of Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon. In a somewhat similar manner to Kyurem, it seems like Necrozma will be able to fuse with either Solgaleo or Lunala.

ctes: Necrozma is so utterly boring and pointless. It will probably help it a lot that Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon are coming. It appears it will get some forms with the cover legendaries, but we're doing the ranking now, and right now it's trash. It's so weird how you randomly find it at Ten Carat Hill. It's mono-psychic and phychic has been used for legendaries way too many times by now, not to mention its a bad typing today. It has just about no coverage as well. It's completely walled by any dark types with its only niche in stored power being gone when baton pass was banned. It also doesn't look interesting.

PrinceKaro: If there's one thing the world of pokemon certainly doesn’t have enough of, it is creatures that look like anuses.

Inviso: It's like Wobbuffet, but the anime isn't relevant enough to me to find it amusing, if it's even a major character in the show.

Luster Soldier: This Pokemon is pretty much the Magikarp of the Alola region, a joke Pokemon in a sense. Before the release of Sun/Moon, there were people who were thinking of using Pyukumuku on their in-game team, but that idea came to a halt when it was discovered Pyukumuku has no direct attacking moves other than Counter and Bide (not counting Z-Moves). So this Pokemon was basically another Wobbuffet in that sense. There's also a small mini-game within the game where you can toss Pyukumuku back into the ocean for cash (can be done daily). ctes: This Pokemon is another abomination. Let's start by looking at it and agree that it looks ridulously awful and that they really didn't have anything to come up when they wanted to make this small pile of trash. And why exactly did we need another f***ing gimmick like this? It's seriously awful. I don't understand what in the world they were thinking. It can be almost completely shut down by taunt no matter what it runs. It learns counter, but it doesn't even freakin' get mirrot coat which is beyond stupid. It's job appears to be to stall, but as someone who plays stall, I'd never consider using this garbage, it's not any good at all. They really made up too much s*** this gen.

Luster Soldier: Originally revealed as this generation's Pikachu clone, Togedemaru had less than 2 weeks to be discussed among the fans before the reveal of Mimikyu. Poor Togedemaru, it was revealed as the Pikachu clone, but finds itself very much overshadowed by Mimikyu instead. Mimikyu not having the Electric type that is typical for the other Pikachu clones helped set it apart from Togedemaru, in addition to possessing the unique Ghost/Fairy typing. Despite being mostly forgotten among fans, I prefer Togedemaru more than Mimikyu because it's cuter.

mnkboy907: What do you know? A pikaclone that's actually good. What a troll move to make a nice 80 BP physical Electric attack and make it exclusive to this guy, though.

OrangeCrush: This guy would've been okay if he was in most other gens. But he made the mistake of being a fairly standard Pikachu clone in the same gen as Mimikyu and Aloha Raichu.

PrinceKaro: The epidemic of morbid obesity strikes hard even in the pikaclone community.

ctes: I am dead tired of Pikachu clones every generation. It's not like Pikachu is not there each time as well, gen V being the exception, but it had Emolga, we really needed Pikachu there. Seriously though, it's the same worthless Pokemon every generation. Completely good for nothing, and they insist on making it. That they've started giving it secondary typings doesn't make up for it, particularly not when they're still all f***ing electric. Worth thing about them is that not a single one of the Pikachu clones can evolve, if you count Pichu then it can, but evolving into Pikachu itself makes it a moot point. Why do we need a new clone every generation that is just there to look fail at being a mascot and not evolve into something that is nice to use? Either they should be good themselves, or they should evolve into something good. Otherwise, the best option is to not have them. In itself, Togedemaru is a decent Pokemon, but it's not particuarly noteworthy.

Luster Soldier: This is one Pokemon that I caught for my in-game playthrough because of the really good Stamina ability. I was quite surprised to find out this Pokemon has base 100 attack, which is extremely high for the lowest possible stage in any evolutionary line. The attack stat being that high makes Mudbray a really good choice for playing through the game.

Raka_Putra: What the heck.

hotdogturtle: This thing is crazy as well. It has balanced stats that let it specialize in almost anything (with Beast Boost), and I remember in the early days people were talking about how almost any nature could be viable for different sets. It has a completely nonsense movepool with a ton of moves that make NO logical sense for what it actually is. That makes it seem more Ultra Beasty, in a way. In modern times people have settled on a specific stalling set as the standard, but the options for other things are there if you want to try to make them work.

Luster Soldier: One of the most unusual Pokemon designs I've seen. Despite the feminine appearance, the design is so weird looking that it has fairly little rule 34 content.

ctes: Celesteela is really great. Of course its speed is ass being a gen VII Pokemon, but otherwise, it's a solid Pokemon. I feared it would outclass Skarmory, but it doesn't in the slightest, it's good in its own way. It has a really detailed interesting design. Try looking at it for a while, it's cool!

swordz9: Not even sure what the hell this is

Cybat: So its code name is "Blaster" and it has these giant cannons that are used for attacking and flying around? And yet it has 61 speed and doesn't learn any cannon-ish moves (besides Flash Cannon, which almost every Steel type can learn)? OK.

Paratroopa1: I like this thing. I don't really know why? it's just like, a big fucking metal thing. but it's rad. dunno why. cool. weird. WHAT IT HAS A FACE????

Luster Soldier: SUPER CUTE POKEMON. Another Pokemon that could have been Grass/Fairy (along with the entire Flabébé line), but turns out to be pure Fairy instead. This Pokemon could have been higher on my list, but faces some obstacles that prevented me from putting any higher on my list. First off, this Pokemon is only found in one area of the game and it has an very low encounter rate, so you'll probably be wasting a bit of time trying to find one. Second, this Pokemon has a very poor offensive movepool. It's mainly intended as a support Pokemon with a couple of healing moves, but has very little in terms of actual attacking moves. It doesn't even get Moonblast, but does get Dazzling Gleam instead. The coverage moves are very limited (mostly Grass moves), leaving it easily walled by most Steel types. After all these shortcomings, I could not justify using Comfey on my in-game team when there were simply much better options instead.

MrSmartGuy: I can't believe Chairry was able to find work after all these years.

ctes: Comfey seems like a complete filler Pokemon, it's a very weird idea with little purpose. They definitely made way too much s*** to get in the forest. But Comfey isn't exactly bad, it's just forgettable and pointless. The generation has enough trash for it to be ranked this high.

Cybat: What is up with all the pure Fairy types that are so strongly associated with Grass? This guy has an interesting niche in double battles but doesn't really seem good enough to occupy it.

Inviso: Should be Fairy/Grass, but lame either way.

Luster Soldier: Super cute fruit Pokemon. Being cute is really the only thing going for Bounsweet, as both of the later evolved forms are much more feminine. Bounsweet is based on a fruit called the mangosteen, which is a fruit I never knew existed before this Pokemon was revealed.

I’m not really sure how much I should talk about this before my court date but as it turns out most young girls aren’t into magearna at all

Inviso: I dislike most legendary Pokemon on principle. I feel like legendaries were at their best when it was just a small handful within a much larger generation. Given that a solid chunk of every new generation is nothing but legendaries, I've soured on the concept and it takes a special Pokemon to make me like it. Magearna is not that Pokemon. Its design is hideous, and it's not even a unique typing. No, we already have TWO Steel/Fairy Pokemon. We don't need some bullshit EVENT legendary that covers a pre-existing type. Get the fuck outta here with that shit. This thing is just Diancie all over again, without the dumb fucking decision to make it a Mega Evolution as well.

pyresword: By design alone Magearna is only good, but not great. I absolutely love the way this thing functions competitively though. (At least in RandBats which is all I play)

Luster Soldier: The first ever Gen VII Pokemon to be revealed and it did not disappoint me. Almost immediately, the Pokemon's design invoked comparisons to Diancie because both of them are cute and feminine. The design resembles something that would have resulted from Diancie and Klink producing offspring. However, Magearna is definitely inferior to Diancie in terms of design. Diancie is both cuter and more feminine than Magearna, in addition to having a Mega Evolution. For most of the pre-release hype phase, this was my favorite Gen VII Pokemon. Only during the last 4 weeks leading up to the release date did we finally get new Pokemon that would dethrone Magearna from my number 1 Gen VII spot.

Cybat: Its name confused me for a while because I thought it was being called a mage, despite being artificial. It's a bizarre concept, but I kind of like how it turned out. And you can't go wrong with Steel/Fairy typing.

ctes: Magearna is really cool. They make these things every generation, but Magearna is a lot more interesting than most if not all the others. Steel / Fairy is a cool typing too being a lot better than the mono-typing a bunch of the other cute mythical Pokemon has. It's also absolutely fantastic competively, really dominating the OU tier since Meta Metangross was banned. It's lovely to use. It's ability is really good too, though it is a bit lame how similar to Beast Boost it is.

OrangeCrush: Mangiana

PrinceKaro: It's a schoolgirl bunny robot maid. That's like the most japanese pokemon ever.

This is a condition called by exposure to high levels of silver in the form of silver dust or silver-based chemical compounds. It causes the skin to turn blue or bluish-gray. Apart from the skin color changes, silver itself is of relatively low toxicity (unlike other heavy metals). A common form of exposure to silver in humans has come from the use of colloidal silver to treat certain medical conditions. The use of colloidal silver is not accepted within mainstream medicine and falls into the realm of alternative medicine instead.

For whatever reason, Alolan Grimer is notably heavier than regular Grimer (66.1 lbs vs. 92.6 lbs) even though I can't see any differences in their designs which would contribute to that kind of weight increase for Alolan Grimer.

PrinceKaro: This is like one of the designers took a black marker and doodled a mustache on a picture of a rattata and called it a new form.

Paratroopa1: I had this weird moment in my rankings where I realized that I actually appreciated rattata WAY MORE than I thought I did and I don't even really understand why, like that was a really long con worming your way into my heart rattata but good job you did it. hey look, a moustached pokemon I don't hate! it's a miracle

mnkboy907: Little bandito Rattata! Could probably be a little higher in hindsight but I just don't care enough to mess with it.

Raka_Putra: Cooler than the usual one.

Inviso: Generic Dark-type that looks cuter than its evolved form and didn't waste my time as long as Raticate did.

Luster Soldier: I never cared about Rattata in the first place, and this hasn't changed one bit with the Alolan Form.

swordz9: Better than Rattata

ctes: This exists for the sole purpose of having common trash that's dark to supply common trash that's normal for the important day/night Sun/Moon mechanic. It's cheap to use an old Pokemon for one of those two really. Rattata isn't great to begin with and this one just looks super weird and stupid making the original look good in comparison.

Luster Soldier: Cute Pokemon that shares the feminine look of the final evolution Primarina, while somewhat retaining the derpy look of Popplio. In relation to Popplio and Primarina, this Pokemon is stuck in an awkward spot since it's very much overshadowed by Primarina and even Popplio as well. In terms of design, it's inferior to both Popplio and Primarina. Popplio is much cuter than Brionne, while Primarina outclasses it by being even more feminine.

Cybat: Weird name, but the design actually is a very apt middle between Popplio and Primarina. Don't see that much with such big design changes.

Ermine: This is the start of the ruin of Popplio. It's not QUITE as offensive as Primarina, but just seeing this reminds me of Popplio's road to disaster. What a shame.

ctes: Brionne is godawful. It's offensively bad how ugly it is. Popplio and Primarina look quite different all things considered and it's like they created those two fully and needed something to link them and man did that go badly. It could rank at the bottom of several other generations, but this generation somehow made something worse. I could rant on forever about this, but you get the point, it's a complete abomination.
