yeah I inherited motion sickness from mother. I'm usually pretty good about it w/ the laptop but lately the couch has been hard to sit on so it triggers the motion sickness cuz I'm just moving around to get it stable. plus I haven't been able to sleep too well, probably for motion sickness reasons. it all just sucks.

"Not even 19," Suresh says. "Now, not to assume anything about you, Chaichian, but how is it that a young man of 18--or at least a young man of 21 on your planet--is the best soldier of the entire Zerentian military?"

This question actually gets the others to look over at Glynn, who is near the middle of the semi-circle. They seem just as curious, having learned Glynn is very young.

"I... can't be sure myself, sir," Glynn says. "I was told that I did score high marks on all my tests, both intellectual and physical, and I am considered the soldier with the strongest appetite."

The other soldiers chuckle, though they try not to.

"But I was not aware I had scored the best marks of all those enlisted," Glynn finishes.

"So then, you were surprised to be considered 'Zerentia's best', am I correct?" Suresh asks.

"Y-Yes, sir," Glynn says, starting to feel embarrassed more than nervous.

"Then, are you sure you are really Zerentia's best?" Suresh asks.

"I... I don't know, sir," Glynn says. "They told me I was."

"Who is 'they'?"

"My commanding officer, and then the generals after him, and even the Zerentian Secretary of Defense after him."

"Longmire," Suresh says.

"Yes, sir?" the female officer who did roll call replies.

"Show the recruits around the base, I need to make some calls."

Suresh walks off, Longmire steps up and directs them to the side.

"Who do you think is the main character?" Raven asks.

"How do you mean?" Robin asks.

"We've met a lot of characters already," Raven says, "but the ones that feel like protagonists are Commander Suresh and Glynn Chaichian."

The soldiers gather in a building, with Commander Suresh waiting with other officers.

"Greetings, everyone," Suresh says. "Let's form up, semi-circle so we can look at everyone."

The soldiers stand as instructed.

"Roll call, in order of the planet you hail from," Suresh says.

"Aebe Glondri of Artoul," a female officer calls.

"Here," a male humanoid replies.

"Linea Naddeo of Aratan."

"Here," a female humanoid with elven ears replies.

"Trent Eorun of Banton."

"Here," a male humanoid with goat horns says.

"Cray Lean of Coyopa 5."

"Here," a male with pale blue skin says.

"Chevy Runyan of Ekurana."

"Here," a male with purple hair and eyes says.

"He looks like if my sister were a boy," Starfire giggles.

"Rica Edofilo of Ergol."

"Here," a female with rabbit ears and buck teeth says.

"Sibo here," the reptilian alien replies in an airy but deep voice.

Commander Suresh looks at Glynn up and down. Suresh steps forward, making Glynn nervous.

"Glynn Chaichian," Suresh says.

"Yes, sir?" Glynn answers, sounding nervous.

"How old are you?" Suresh asks.

"Um... In years on my planet or the universal years? S-Sir."

"I know that Zerentian years are shorter than the universal," Suresh says, "and I know for that reason, Zerentia tends to send the youngest soldiers of all the League of Stars into battle."

"Title drop," you quickly mutter.

"That said," Suresh continues, "I would like the universal years, if you know it."

"Sir, yes, sir," Glynn says. "The ratio is 0.9 universal years to every one Zerentian year, so that means while I am 21 on Zerentia, the League of Stars would recognize me, as only 18 going on 19, sir."

Spaceships gather on the surface of the planet, almost 20 of them, and all varying in size, shape, and colors. The soldiers that come out of them vary just as widely, and even wildly, as some are very humanoid aliens in the way Starfire resembles a human, and others are far less human, though still moving on two legs.

"A movie. Perhaps something with sci-fi and action."

"We've got plenty of those," Cyborg says as he turns on the television. "What kind of sci-fi? Space? The future? The future in space?"

"Those all seem good," you say. "Let's go with whatever has the best rating."

"Then we'll be watching... The League of Stars," Cyborg says after reorganizing the menu.

The pie finishes baking, you pull it out and let it cool on the counter. Everyone lines up with plates and forks as you cut eight perfectly equal slices. Everyone gets one slice, the last slice goes into the microwave to stay warm.

Everyone sits at the couch with their pie as the movie begins. The camera drifts through fictional star systems to a particular one, where a planet similar to Earth exists. It resembles Earth in many ways, aside from the much larger central continent with a large and dense urban area on it. The camera flies down into this giant city.

"Sci-fi loves its oversized metropolis archetype, doesn't it?" you say.

The camera focuses on what must be some sort of government building. The scene transitions inside and some sort of meeting is happening, and it is very uproarious.

"Order," the eldest man at the center table says. "Order!"

The commotion calms down and the gathered audience pays attention to the center.

"I believe we can all admit we have all failed in capturing Damian Zed," the elder says. "Otherwise, none of you would be pinning blame on the others for how he still roams free. I believe we have a proposal from Commander Suresh."

"Thank you, Elder Kojima," a barrel chested man says as he steps forward. "As Damian Zed hasn't been captured by one member of the League, it will take a combined military effort from us all. My request is that the best from every planet gathers together on Scoticene to form a special unit for tracking, finding and stopping Zed at all costs. When I say 'the best', I do not mean your two best, your three best, your top five, I mean the best. Your number ones, no one else."

There seems to be another commotion over this, but the elder again calls everyone to order.

"Commander Suresh has called for the forming of an elite task force to deal with Damian Zed. Those among the League of Stars accepts this proposal, say 'aye'."

"Aye!" a large majority says.

"Well, I believe the ayes have it," the elder says. "Commander Suresh, you shall have your very best within the next universal week."

"Thank you, Elder," Suresh says. "And thank you, members of the League."

Commander Suresh bows, salutes, and then walks out of the hall.

"Hold to your promise, you nations who voted for this," the Elder says. "And those who did not choose this, know that your cooperation is needed if this plan is to succeed and Damian Zed is to be brought to justice. Giving forth a representative will not be in vain. With that, this meeting is concluded, you are all dismissed."

There is commotion again as the various politicians leave, and the scene fades out of the government building and back to space. Slow pan to a new planet, one that is smaller but still similar to Earth with its different climates and environments.

I don't know a thing about the Battle Frontier.

ugh I hated battle frontier in Emerald. it basically gets you to start thinking about meta game in the regular game in order to properly survive some of the challenges. the only ones I ever faced the Frontier Brains on were the Pike and the Pyramid, because it's just about being lucky and having the right pokemon to beat the Brain's team. and I know nothing about the DPP battle frontier as I never played those games.

My Pokemon Platinum guide's going to be freaking massive. By some divine prank, Nintendo is giving us Sun and Moon sequels instead of Platinum-era remakes.

Platinum has quite a bit of content after the main story. I'm tempted to write up to the post-game and then upload Version 0.1. I'll then write the post-game and add it as Version 1.0.

"The green tart."

Starfire hands you one with a smile, and you take a quick bite.

"Mmm!" you say. "It's good!"

"Really?" Raven says. "What does it taste like?"

"It has a flavor similar to lime," you say. "With just a hint of grape. An odd combination, really, but it is enjoyable."

You take another bite before checking on the pie pan in the oven. The crust looks golden brown, you grab the oven mitts and use them to pull out the pan.

"Lemon filling," you ask.

Raven has it whipped into a thick gelatin. You help her bring the filling out of the pot and into the pan to evenly spread all over the crust.

"And we put the meringue on top," you say as you spread the whipped whites over the top of the filling to reach even the edge of the crust. "And now we bake."

You put the pan back in the oven.

"How long will that take?" Raven asks.

"Oh not very long, only about 10 minutes or so. That'll be just enough to make the meringue golden brown, and to finalize the crust."

"Is that really that good?" she asks as you keep eating the tart.

"Yes," you say. "Would you like some?"

You hold out your tart to her.

"No, that's ok," she says. "I don't need you to feed me."

"So what're we doing next?" Jinx asks. "I mean, Rorek is still in charge, right?"

"Yes, I believe I am," you say. "In which case, I say we enjoy our pie and Tamaranian treats while watching..."

"And I will bake a pie," you say.

Everyone looks relieved.

"What kind of pie?" Cyborg says. "Apple? Cherry?"

"I wouldn't mind apple," Robin says.

"Cherry!" Beast Boy says.

"How about a custard pie?" Jinx says.

"Custard? Seriously?" Raven says.

"Cherry pie sounds good," Starfire says.

"Well, it depends on what we have," you say. "It won't do any good to want apple or cherry but we don't have any apples or cherries to put in the pie. For now, we'll wrap up here and head down."

You make the Twisters game disappear, the others carry the leftovers from the barbecue, Robin retrieves his staff.

"Um, Rorek," he says as it drops to knee level on him. "How long do these runes last?"

"Oh, right, I'll take care of that," you say.

You snap your fingers and the runes go away. The staff drops to the ground, he picks it up and collapses it so it fits in the utility belt.

Everyone heads downstairs to Ops and you go to the kitchenette. You look around in the cupboards and refrigerator. You have ingredients for the pie crust, but choices for fillings are limited.

"Well, it looks like we're not having apple or cherry," you say to everyone. "We are going to have a lemon merinque instead."

You bring out the lemons for the juicing and zest while the oven preheats.

"Or as the fry cooks would call it," you continue, "a corrugated roof."

You mix the sugar, flour, salt and cornstarch together before adding water, the lemon juice and the zest.

"Raven, be my lovely assistant, please," you say.

"O-Okay," she says as she walks over.

You have a stove top go on medium heat as you set down the pot.

"Stir this until it boils," you say. "After that, be sure to stir in butter. I will help you after that."

"What're you going to do in the meantime?" she asks.

"I'm working on the meringue itself," you say.

You crack eggs, pour them out, and separate yolks from whites.

"How is the batter for the pie crust going?" you ask Cyborg.

"Would be going better if Beast Boy wasn't trying to sneak a taste," Cyborg says as he holds the bowl too high for Beast Boy to reach.

Cyborg finishes making the batter and molds it into the pie pan. The oven is done heating up so he places the pan inside and it bakes while you whip the egg whites into a foam. You add sugar as you go to form stiff peaks.

"It's boiling," Raven says.

You pass the butter, she puts it in and keeps stirring. The filling is now rich and creamy, ready for the next part.

"Alright," you say as you bring the yolks over. "Pour a half-cup of that for me."

She pours right into a measuring cup, and hands you the half-cup. You whisk in the creamy filling right into the yolks, the heat from the filling cooking the eggs as you scramble them. Once the contents are thoroughly mixed together, you pour them back into the rest of the filling.

"Stir this until it boils again," you instruct. "Make sure it gets thick before removing from heat."

Raven nods and stirs while you watch Starfire work on her Tamaranian desserts. Oddly colored fruits and creams are set atop equally odd colored pastries in the shapes of cupcakes and tarts.

"Would you like to try?" she asks you.

"Um... I don't see why not. I'll try..."

Now I'm reminded of this fictional gun I came up with. The ammo is cocoons made out of a hard, metallic thread, and firing shoots the cocoon shell out while ejecting the butterfly in it. The heat from the shot flash-dries its wings, so it can start flying immediately.

"Oh we continue," you say. "And now, the one who falls over, eats an entire Punishment Dog!"

Cyborg's and Robin's jaws drop as part of their horrified expressions.

"Alright," you say as you spin the needle. "Cyborg, right hand red."

Cyborg looks to the open circle, and reaches awkwardly under himself, managing to touch the red circle while keeping fingertips on the green circle.

"Robin, right foot blue."

Robin still has it easy to move his right foot over a row.

"Cyborg, right foot yellow."

Cyborg looks at his awkwardly placed parts, takes a deep breath in and out, then balances himself on his hands and one foot to bring his foot up two rows. He sighs as he's able to support himself on all fours again.

You spin again while using levitation magic to prepare another Punishment Dog.

"Robin, left foot green."

Robin is also worried about this development. He props himself up and has to cross legs and slightly twists. His left hand and right foot are forward but left foot and right hand are behind him, he teeters for just a moment but steadies himself. He lets out nervous laughs which slowly become more confident.

"Cyborg, left hand red."

Cyborg looks scared to try. He tries to stay supported on such a criss-crossed foundation, but he ends up falling over with a *clunk*

"Aw c'mon," he shouts as he lies on his side.

"Robin wins!" Starfire says with hands up in victory.

Robin stands up triumphantly for just a second before Starfire picks him up in a hug.

"Eat up!" Jinx and Beast Boy say as they present Cyborg with his Punishment Dog.

Cyborg grimaces but begins eating nonetheless. He chews with a scowl of disgust, but Jinx and Beast Boy barely contain their giggling.

*brr brr* A cell phone rings, but it isn't yours.

"Oh, hold on," she says as she goes off to the side.

Jinx answers her phone by swiping before putting to her ear.

"Hey, Argent!" she says. "No, it's fine, we just finished play Twister. ... Oh stop, it was girls-only and boys-only. So, did you- Yeah? ... Yeah? Really?! That's great! ... Yeah, yeah. I'll tell them right away. Thanks so much! See you tomorrow!"

Jinx hangs up, very excited as she turns around and smiles at the group.

"It's official!" she says. "I'm going to move in with the Titans North!"

Everyone reacts in positive surprise.

"What brought this on?" Robin asks.

"My conversation with Kid Flash earlier," Jinx says, "as well as one with Rorek after. Rorek suggested that, for peace of mind and stuff, I go somewhere else for the time being until Kid Flash feels it's safe for me to return to Central City."

"Alright," Robin says. "How're you getting up to the Canadian border?"

"Argent will pick me up in the T-Copter," she says. "In which case, I need to make sure I have everything packed tonight."

"We should also celebrate your departure!" Starfire says. "I shall prepare Tamaranian desserts perfect for the departure of friends on good terms!"

"Uh..." everyone says with tones of uncertainty.

They also look to you, as you have become the resident chef.

Got myself a literal boomstick.

Even came with a letter from the ATF stating it's not a shotgun, but a firearm. As such, I cannot fit a stock, otherwise that's re-manufacturing it as one, and without proper licenses, is heavy fines and years in prison.
