I hope it's good, but I'm not on board with half-step console generations gouging you for hundred-dollar console upgrades and telling you that it's a "family" thing. Not super enthusiastic about Nintendo doing it either, was never on board with the DSi and beyond, but moving the same model onto consoles seems really fucking risky - games, services and DLC talk are already milking PS4 and Xbox users, and now they're expecting you to buy a brand new box for an extra four frames a second and nicer graphics without having the decency to make it a new thing. They can't get any better, so console generations are dead - in lieu of new consoles, you now pay for slight frame, particle and smoothing improvements like you're buying new PC parts.

I don't want to see fanboyism become even more of a pissing match between cashed-up fuckwits, buying brand new machines with slightly better specs like a more gimped PC user - that's all that's going to come out of this. Smug assholes thinking they're hot shit over other console brands because they were duped into buying a slightly faster toy than everyone else, and a thousand more just like them buying it because it's the hot new thing. Fuck the "Xbox One family" concept.

They're called a family of systems because they all play the same games. Calm down man geez.

I have no interest in the Xbox One X. But some people are acting like this system is meant to be something it isn't.

It's the premium Xbox One model. You don't need to upgrade if you don't care. I think Microsoft have said they expect the S to sell more. Microsoft generally don't make money on hardware so it doesn't make a difference to them what you're playing on.
