If you sink like a rock, you aren't doing it right. You wouldn't sink like a rock if your lungs are full of air, since the air in your lungs is less dense than the surface of the water. Your lungs are essentially bubbles of air trying to float to the top of the water.

You're wrong, you can fill your entire lungs up with air and that doesn't guarantee you'll float. Yeah of course your lungs are less dense than the air, but that doesn't guarantee buoyancy, because you are not just a set of sentient lungs, you have other body parts too.

Whether you float is heavily dependent on your amount of fat, lean muscle, and general body composition and proportions. Leaner people will be less buoyant.

Because happiness is fleeting and anything you buy will quickly become "normal," and you'll feel exactly the same as you did before.

I mean, being worry free is a good feeling to me. I grew up with nothing, but I'm in a good place now.

I suppose it's subjective, as is happiness. /shrug. whatever floats your goat, I guess.

Thing is being worry free isn't the same as happiness. Negative emotions aren't the opposite of positive ones; you can have both at the same time, and lacking one doesn't mean you'll have the other.

More realistically, if you come upon some money and can pay your bills or whatever, you'll feel less worried, and you'll briefly feel happier, but that happiness doesn't last. You'll just return to neutral, free of worry sure, but not happy.

Can some one sum up for me why this airplane kerfuffle is news right now? From what I've gathered it sounds like a man was asked to get off a plane, he refused, so they removed him. Sounds fair to me.

Flight was fully booked. United wanted to replace passengers with employees that were slated to work on a flight in another state. Passengers did not want to accept offer of $800 and hotel stay for leaving voluntarily. United runs lottery to decide who gets forced off of flight. Lottery falls on the doctor who was supposed to be at a hospital the next morning. Doctor tries to refuse, so United called security to rough him up before taking him off of flight instead. CEO lies about situation.

The end.

In addition, 1) he wasn't just roughed up, he was concussed and bleeding, to the extent that (after the police managed to lose track of him) he re-boarded the plane confused and bleeding saying that he needs to get home, 2) he had patients that he needed to see back home and 3) the airline tried to orchestrate the whole bumping people off the plane thing after everyone had already boarded.
