I think there should be an exception for the 'n' word. That word is more than just a word. It is a symbol of abuse and oppression. That word enforces a negative status quo. It gives undeniable power to those that use it. It's evil.

So you're in favor of arresting/fining the hundreds of thousands of black people and hip hop artists who say this "evil word" daily? If this word is evil, it's evil, right?

Black people have the right to say it. They were the ones that were dealt the abuse of the word. They have the right to do whatever with the word.

I find it disgusting when people say that word. Nobody should ever say it. If someone says it, they should be forced to take a racial awareness class kind of like how when police give people driving tickets, they have to go to traffic school. If they keep on saying it, they should seriously go to prison. The word is disgusting and is on the level of child pornography. By saying the word, people show how ignorant they are and how they don't care about past injustices while sticking to the status quo. I have no other words other than how it is disgusting.

I feel you're asking for too much with your "take everything about them into account" approach. Most people won't know more than a cursory amount about the majority of these companies and asking them to do research is frankly asking them to put in more effort than it's really worth. If you have to have some sort of guideline, I think it would make more sense to rate them as they are now, so for your Disney example just consider Disney in the past several years or so as opposed to 90 years of history.

I guess that's true. I really want people to take into account the whole company. I don't want them to rate the company a "1" because of one thing they hate. I guess if I shorten my paragraphs and ask about "prestige", which is basically what I am going for, I'll get more accurate answers.

Rate it (10 is best)

Welcome to this new series! Over the next few months, I will ask you guys what you think of certain companies on a scale of 1-10 where 10 is the most positive. Basically, I want you guys to rate each company based on prestige. I want you guys to ask yourself this question. How highly do you value the company? Convert your answer to a numerical answer and vote that on the poll. I'm curious as to how this board views certain brands.

Remember: When thinking about a company, think about ALL its parts. For example, if the company is Disney, remember that they own Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel. Also remember everything that the company does. Continuing with the Disney example, take note that they own theme parks, make movies, make clothes, have a cruise line, etc.

Think of the whole company from the start. If the company is Disney, think from the 1920's when Walt Disney started his first animations. Don't base your rating from the last 5 years or so.

The following spreadsheet is a list of all of the companies that this board has reviewed. I only make a new topic for a new company when the topic has 50 votes. You guys are free to make suggestions for companies you want to see rated in the comments. Just remember that I will only ask you guys about the highest level in a company. For example, I will not ask you guys to rate Marvel because Disney owns Marvel.

Oh, if you have any suggestions to make this a better series, please PM me as that is the best way to get my attention. Vote Away!

And I will gladly elaborate on why they both are a blight on the business world.

do so

A&F
-Have little selection
-Have not been in style for years
-The product is overpriced
-The stores are outdated, the music is too loud, and usually the employees do not care or are rude.
-Other retailers sell similar clothing at better prices and comparable quality. The brand is dying which is why they have lost i think about 60 million dollars so far this year.

Underarmour
-My personal most hated company
-No style whatsoever in their products compared to competitors (Nike, Adidas, Puma)
-Little technology compared to the other brands to boost performance
-Have no creativity and no sense how to design a sneaker that is not hideous or functional.
-Their running footwear has a terrible reputation for breaking very quickly.
-They have very few sponsors and the ones that are sponsored by them are mostly liked by children (Curry, Newton)
-Heard terrible stories about how they do not treat the employees well
-Are being blown away by other brands currently, especially Adidas which is killing everyone including Nike.
-Are overpriced for what you are getting. Same prices as Nike so there is no point to buy UA.
-A shit load of other reasons I cant think of right now, those are the ones off the top of my head.

And if you want proof look at the wicked declines in both of their stocks.

I agree with you 100%, especially on Under Armour. As much as I hate A&F, I think they are changing and getting slightly better in their clothing styles that they offer if that's anything.

Wasn't that based on a true story? So it's not really original. Although Pirates of the Caribbean was based on the ride, it relied more on imagination than the ride itself as the ride didn't even have Jack Sparrow which is why I consider it an original film.
