It's interesting to see your reactions, since you're watching the whole show all at once.

Since there's so much time between seasons, diehard fans like me have watched each season like three times and obsess over every detail. The constant callbacks and elaboration on series canon are some of the show's greatest strengths. I feel like you miss some of that by binge watching the whole series.

Like, that's not just any intelligent ape, that's King Gorilla, Monarch's old cellmate from season one.

One of my favorite characters from season five is literally just an extra plucked from the background and made a main character

It's from one of the earlier commentaries. He says he does just one voice, low pitched for Dr. G, high pitched for 21 and with a lisp for Billy.

He's really good as those three, but when he does other characters, his lack of range is super apparent

I disagree completely. S5 had some really great episodes, and it's probably the most consistent in quality. Actually, S6 is more consistent, just consistently mediocre

"step back" is the wrong word of phrase. It's a step in the wrong direction. I guess if you really love the Monarch, you love this season. I sure don't.
