All I know about him is that he has ridiculously picky standards for women. I've seen him claim that women are not hot, or even outright unattractive when that is clearly not the case.

I just don't get it. His name often comes up in discussions of great antagonists in works of literature and I'm just not having it.

I have read EVERY Sherlock Holmes novel and short story. I can tell you that Moriarty was shoehorned in to one of the short stories solely as an excuse to kill Holmes off as Doyle had tired of writing the novels. There was absolutely no foreshadowing to Moriarty's existence in all the works that existed prior to that short story. All of a sudden it was just revealed out of nowhere that Holmes had some kind of antagonist with far-reaching connections that was masterminding much of Holmes' obstacles. It was downright atrocious storytelling. Moriarty himself is often praised for being so "mysterious", but that's utter nonsense. That's just fanboy speak. The translation to "Moriarty is mysterious" is "Moriarty is a horribly bland and underdeveloped villain". No personality. No background. No character.

Doyle would go on to retcon Holmes' anticlimactic death with the excuse that he somehow survived. Moriarty made, like, one other brief appearance and there was some interaction with Moriarty's henchmen in a couple of other short stories. That's it.

Now, I understand Moriarty has generally been given more exposure in other forms of Sherlock Holmes media such as television and film. I can understand liking him in that regard. But the fact that his name is frequently mentioned among the best antagonists in literature specifically is just laughable.

The problem with this statement is that it suggests that adults who don't play video games refrain from the activity because they're simply too busy. That's complete bullshit. Many more adults who don't play handheld games WOULD have the time to do so if they cut time out of whatever other recreational activity they typically engage in. For instance, I don't watch much television as I tend to want to devote my free time to video games. Conversely, many adults spend their free time watching television or posting on some social media site rather than playing video games.

I wish that I was one of those people who happened to have come into existence despite not being planned. I'm not wishing I was never born at all.

There's something I find endearing about the concept of being an accident. Normally it's used as an insult, but I like the concept of managing to be born despite my parents' intentions(or lack thereof).

But sadly, I was planned.

I'm in some North Carolina mountain town. There's a store entitled "Moonshine Merchandise", I saw a Confederate flag that said "The South Shall Rise Again", and there was some woman playing a washboard.

I could take all of that if I weren't also crammed in a tiny inn room with five other people.

This candy shop is awesome. That thing at the top of the second picture is a conveyor belt dropping taffy onto the display.

Neither site offers any real use for the stuff, but at least on GameFAQs high karma is a bit of a status thing that people like to use to look down on others.

Meanwhile, on Reddit, all Karma shows is god many reposts you've made. I've been on Reddit for half a year and I only have 5K. A single repost on the right subreddit'll net you 20K+. There's, like, an inverse correlation between the quality of a poster and their Karma!

Sonic the Hedgehog is very well known. He's, like, an A- video game character in terms of popularity. In fact, if I recall correctly, he was the first to get a Macy's parade balloon.

I could go around asking my most out of touch relatives if they know what Sonic the Hedgehog is and they'd probably know him.

HOLY FRIJOLES, Chuck's breakdown and eventual suicide was glorious. Rest in peace, Chuck McGill, possibly the best-written character in the Gilliganverse.

The actual death scene doesn't beat Jane's death, but his breakdown sequence combined with his death might.
