Yeah very true. If you buy used the are some great rides you can get for a fraction of the original sale price. You can get some niiiiice cars for not much more than basic models. Just need to be aware of higher maintenance costs. It's not totally out there though... Out of warranty you can use other manufacturers parts and you're not limited to dealerships for service.

For the fun of depreciation: I bought a used BMW that was maintained and had low mileage. It was 11 years old when I got it. Original sale value was 75-80K in 2002 dollars. I got it for 8K in 2013, which was just under the blue book value. That's more than 90% value lost in a decade.

Vehicles do depreciate fast. Luxury cars even moreso.

I'm in a rural area and having my own vehicle is my only option to get to work and take care of necessary tasks like getting groceries, checking the mail, or even leaving the area. No busses or flights from anywhere nearby.

They implemented a once-hourly bus route that ends before 9pm and doesn't run on Sunday or holidays. Couldn't even use it for work.

Over the summer, when WikiLeaks was releasing daily batches of emails stolen from John Podesta's inbox, many journalists noted that Russia Today and Sputnik — another state-run Russian news agency — frequently shared the leaked documents on Twitter before WikiLeaks did.

I've seen a few of the split face marking cats. It always looks really neat. It's just the tortie (torby) female coloration in this case. Which is also an interesting thing.

Tiny orange man is extremely interested in her, but seems intimidated. Kitty took over my bed. Orange man will not come too close because she hisses and he gets upset.

An older woman came in with a bag of blankets and towels. Sometimes we get funny blankets. A few weeks ago we got this set of Twilight blankets that were lolworthy.

This one topped it. One of the blankets is a huge fleece printed blanket with a topless woman trying to pose all sexy.

Naturally it is now hanging in the boss's window for a Monday morning surprise.

I'm cleaning out and tossing all of his things that can't be donated. It feels a bit sad seeing all those empty spaces. Really miss Nosy.

Going to print out a photo of him to frame and keep around. Also going to make sure to take more photos of my other cats. Even though I take animal photos nearly every day I haven't taken all that many of my own. Must remedy that.

I love Better Call Saul! My favorite scene is pretty early on in Season 1 too (the part with the skateboarders).

That's such a great scene. I was totally hooked after that.
