I like the Brotherhood faction the most in terms of quests and stuff, but they're kind of annoying overall. I'd rather have a "make peace with everyone" resolution instead of just murdering all other factions. On my first playthrough, I think I sided with the Railroad, no doubt spurred on by their swagtastic b-weave.

I didn't play the Lara's Nightmare part, but just going through an empty house and doing some clues is kinda middling. At least in Baba Yaga you get to have some action, and it can be done early on, so you can use whatever goodies are obtainable after (IIRC) escaping the gulag.

You should be able to get all that DLC free (or at least with a voucher) in the 20th Anniversary Edition. Dunno if that's physical-only, though. But anyway, Baba Yaga gives a creepy-ass costume and bow that confuses enemies into friendly-fire scenarios. Honestly, not super great, but it's a bit more fun than Blood Ties. I forget if the survival mode is DLC or part of the game naturally.

I enjoyed it, but didn't know what was happening most of the time until I read a synopsis. After that, things started clicking pretty well, so I'd suggest doing the same if you find yourself in those shoes.

Playing at night was messed up, but otherwise, I always found woefully underpowered. I hear you get machine guns and stuff later...sounds good. I get sick of relying on molotovs and weak-ass melees to do everything.
