Every game you automatically have a 1/12 chance (8.3%) chance of winning instantly. And if you don't win right away, each turn you just have to put one of the Exodia cards you have multiple of in defense mode. Then as soon as you do get the 5 Exodia cards you win! Alternatively, you can remove some of the Exodia cards and add multiple POT OF GREED cards. It's similar to Mario in that you only get one hit, but you can get a mask powerup to give you an extra hit. In fact, there are many levels where the game is essentially a sidescrolling platformer. There are also a lot of levels with gameplay variety. For example, the levels where you are running toward the camera being chased by something (very unique at the time and I've only seen something remotely similar in the Sonic Adventure games). There are also levels where you use a jetpack, Turbo Tunnel-like levels in 3D where you are on rails, a level in Crash 3 where you are in an actual motorcycle race, etc. Banjo-Kazooie has similar gameplay to Super Mario 64. It is open world with a large hub world and a few large levels. You have to find Jiggies (which are like Stars in Super Mario 64) but there is a much bigger emphasis on collecting things. There really aren't that many games like the Crash Bandicoot games. The only one I can think of is the first Sly Cooper, but that series became open world platforming after the first game. --- Shenmue II = best game of all time Shenmue = 2nd best game of all time |
