Ugh I have so much rust to shake off. I was playing mage against some warrior deck that was based on spells and arcane giants. He was out of cards and had 2 arcane giants on the field, and I elected to blizzard them rather than frost nova them and take them down one at a time. Which meant he could sudden genesis/blood warriors them for the win. I completely forgot the latter card existed, and didn't know the former was a thing. Guess I have a lot to learn about the past few sets.

To be fair you probably won't see that deck for another 100 games.

I think 6 mana is a little costly to be in every deck but it's a decent tech for Midrange on curve decks.

Well it's basically the best turn 6 play against Mage so that's good enough for me!

Depends on how this interacts with Sorcerers Apprentice. Not sure what order they go in, but it's possible you can just Fireball this thing and then go face. If the +2 is after the reductions instead of combined with them and your random spell in hand costs 2, then you won't be able to play Antonidas, random spell for 2 and Fireball for 2.

Well I was thinking they wouldn't be able to clone the Apprentices in the first place but I'm too lazy to do any math

Not really. There's two things here, really: First, it's a matter of mindset: discarding a card needs to be viewed the same as if you never drew it. Second, the deck needs a 1-drop that feels like an Innervated 3-drop.

Plus we do have that deathrattle: get back someone you discarded guy. Zoolock can't play him, but the quest version could!

I don't really think you can consider it to be the same thing because you DID draw it. If you used any resources to draw that card they were just wasted. The problem with discolock is that the risks/negatives of discarding things greatly outweighs the positives. Sure a 4 mana 3/8 with taunt is good but now you don't have any cards to play the next turn.

It's just not a good mechanic in it's current state.
