on the other hand i actually wouldn't doubt crono being able to get off some lightning at close range. iirc the whole reason spekkio does those duels with you is for you to test out your magic, and that's done on, well, spekkio's arena. if crono can get magic off there he can probably do so here

the politics topic was definitely mean to jd even before the post in question ('is he 15' etc.), mostly because his politics are absolutely ridiculous. bullying is kind of a strong word though and anyone who snaps like that is unfit to post on an internet forum

regardless of intentions your discord community doesn't seem able to deal with these individuals in a productive way, so yeah as steiner said you should probably just ban people like this sooner. i'm glad this crap doesn't happen on irc

league is honestly dreadful to watch (even though i watch some lol) and it's hard for me to imagine that many people who have never played it being very interested in viewing. there's just an incredible amount of downtime in that game and a huge snowball effect too. as the article notes, maybe some of these 42% played whatever game at one point and are simply no longer active.

something like a fighting game is a way better spectacle and i would totally understand a high % from non-players there - given sufficient exposure, anyway

yeah i'd prefer going by original release - i mean, there are lots of good games that haven't had a north american release at all and it would be silly not to consider them.

even for foreign games that have made it over here, it gets especially silly when there's a huge time gap. like am i supposed to pretend that fucking dragon quest v is a 2009 game?
