What's left in Majora's Mask if you don't do any sidequests? I'd guess BotW and MM would probably take a fairly similar amount of time doing a dungeons-only playthrough.

Poor Besaid. Would've voted for it over either of the first two, since the first match is pretty whatever. Everyone always complains about the Suite, but I think it's a pretty solid song. Mikazuchi is way too repetitive. Amazing how it's literally half as long as the Suite but gets old so much faster.

Well the problem for me is that generally the maps are balanced around the idea that you should be able to win without losing any characters - I honestly can't even imagine not being able to clear a map without losing all my characters on anything less than lunatic (lunatic casual is sorta fun). Like I don't even know how you don't win if you can just throw all your units head-on into the fray without worrying about losing them.

My goal is usually to get as much support levels between the characters as possible, so even on casual it can be challenging, and I've redone battles several times because characters died when I was trying to get more support for them.

Gabriel Dropout's kinda like a good version of Umaru? The MCs are kinda similar, but there's no dumb chibi shit and the supporting cast is fantastic.

Well, when listening to music as a focus, most people like stuff that has a strong melody. They like to enjoy what they're listening too. Think about the stuff Snake nominates: it's mostly BGM from horror games that's made to be kinda unpleasant and ratchet up the tension. It's effective at this, but who wants to listen to music that's unpleasant in non-horror situations?

Also, it's not like music can't be effective at both. You're Not Alone made for one of the most powerful scenes in the game, and it's also wonderful to listen to independently. I'd say that most of the music that does well in these contests works well in-game too, really.

It only got in because two people liked it enough to double nom it (myself being one of them), which seems more like a technicality than actually getting in on it's own popularity. I can nearly guarantee it gets slaughtered in round 1, even if it weren't playing against what's probably a pretty strong opponent.

For what it's worth, I think a lot of the songs you nominated are boring ambient stuff that I don't care to listen to on their own, but Fear the Night is quite good and definitely better than its opponent.

Mm, yeah. Well, it's not necessarily the studios - it's usually funded by the people who own the original work, and a lot of times, one season of anime will result in a huge boost to sales, a second season will result in a small boost, and a third season will result in practically no boost. FMA's a kinda interesting example - S1 increased the manga sales tenfold, while S2 doubled them. Doubling is still pretty awesome of course, especially when it's already a hugely successful series, but that one aired in the daytime too, so it makes sense that it'd have more of an effect...and even there, the second season was much less of an influence than the first.

Konosuba S2 was probably already planned before they started S1, I'd guess. S1 was pretty successful though, so if S2 maintains the sales, why wouldn't they make an S3? Isn't the author writing books faster than the anime's adapting them?

Kiniro Mosaic Movie watched. This was kinda, uh, bad? The start was alright, but the flashback was meh and the play wasn't good either. Was the whole thing filler? It kinda felt like they were trying to recapture the magic of the first and last episodes of the first season, but they totally failed at it. No Karen or Alice for most of the episode definitely hurt.

Galko OVA watched. It was good, just like the show. There's a lot of characters in it though, so it was kinda hard to keep track of who everyone was. Some of them I wasn't sure how old they were either, so I was confused if they were younger kids or what. I'll have to read the manga sometime, but it's not even three years old so it'll probably be a while...

is Kenka Banchou Otome actually going to have a girl beating boys? if so that'll be great. I fear it'll be a reverse harem instead though.

I've heard good things about that Shuumatsu series, and it's literally an adaptation of a complete work, which is cool. It'd be interesting if these charts made note of when the adaptations were of something complete since that's so rare.

Sakura Quest sounds like it could be neat, but thinking about it harder, it's probably about domestic tourism. Which is a shame, because international tourism is an infinitely more interesting subject for this sort of thing.

But uh I'm seeing a lot of LN adaptations here, so it's kinda luck of the draw if they end up good or not I guess.
