I have no experience whatsoever with anything but built in speakers, basic 2.0 computer speakers, and basic headphones/earbuds. I'm looking to get some kind of surround sound set up for my media room, either 5.1 or 7.1 I'm not really sure, just some stuff in the more entry level-mid range bang for your buck type stuff because I'm by no means an audiophile (obviously) but I'm still wanting something good and better than the basic bitch sound I'm used to. From what I've gathered when you get to stuff like that you buy the speakers themselves and then need an audio receiver that you actually connect them all to and your inputs to? I have no experience with that because I've only dealt with plug and play stereo sound in a standard 3.5mm connector. How do the inputs for surround work, is it like HDMI pass through or something? And what is a good price for the entry level - mid range home theater type stuff? I was hoping I could get something decent within the sub $1k range (with it ideally coming out a couple hundred under that if possible) that being the speakers, receiver, and whatever else I need. Would that be realistic or would I be looking at more than that? Is there any model of speakers or receiver that's considered the go to for the budget-mid range I'm looking for? She doesn't actually work full time or anything, she just does some light management of the restaurant, which is out of state, and her parents still currently work at. It's just in her name and she gets roughly 25k a year from that. The remainder of the income is from a settlement I have. Linkin Park was by all accounts a talented band, wether your liked their output or not. Chester was one of the best vocalists of our time, especially in modern rock, I'd say top 5 at least but the only one that immediately comes to mind is Corey Taylor of Slipknot/Stone Sour. Many of them were muti instrumentalists, they wrote all of their own songs which as far as popular artists go theses days it's becoming less and less common to write your own music, Mr. Hahn directed a lot of their music videos, and they were easily one of the best live bands of our generation. They were really one of the big future classic arena rock bands of our time, and ntm Mike is very talented on the production side. I think they were a fairly average band as far as my enjoyment of their output goes, but I can respect them as artists and musicians enough to know that they had a lot of talent and put a lot of work into their music. And say what you will about your preference for their sound changing over time but not many bands who do something like Hybrid Theory go on to make something like A Thousand Suns, and nobody who listened to Hybrid Theory wanted an album like A Thousand Suns from them so it was really love/hate and I can respect that they could've just made Hybrid Theory and Meteora forever but didn't because that isn't what they wanted to do --- The above post is literally and objectively right. |
