Built in input scripts. Basically, I'm sort of making my own version of Java and the interpreter to go along with it. Kind of had the idea of mixing in some BASIC, but I figured I'd just stick to what people know. All variables are global because I don't feel like dealing with that, nothing has to be declared and all variables are floats.

It looks something like this currently. Not my interpreter, but the language I'm making. You can tell I didn't take much creative liberty, but if I did, I'd try to get rid of some of those brackets and parenthesis and semi-colons. I've already added "and" to replace &.

for (i = 0; i < 10; i++)
{
if (i and 5) { 3DS.A = true; }
}

And because it can be executed on a separate thread there should be no loss of performance regardless of how inefficient it may be, as long as it's not as bogged down as the rest of the program.

Tl Dr; AR codes on steriods.

I get flashbacks of the Fontus "self-filling water bottle", where a guy who knew nothing about thermodynamics promised a bunch of schmucks he could defy the laws of physics. Everyone likes different things.

I'd say everyone should learn to code, because that's the future.

Code in what language? What will be helpful in the future? BASIC was the big thing in schools in the 80's. Not very useful now. Good for flow logic, I guess.

In grad school, I learned to punch cards for FORTRAN to do multivariate analysis on a DEC VAX ring. Mainframes with keypunch machines and card readers were state-of-the-art.

Kids would have been better served in the 80s with a general knowledge of applications in word processing, database, spreadsheets, etc.

Just teach kids the most relevant modern language imo. The rate of change has slowed significantly since the earlier days.

I changed my mind about this though, finance is probably more important first off, and girls tend to not give a crap about programming whatsoever. Maybe an optional course on the side. It has to be much easier if you start off young, though. It really, really makes you think critically.

Your college almost assuredly has a BA program and gen ed courses don't strictly only stick you with people from your same major, which is kinda the point of the gen ed program. And English classes are more likely to skew heavily liberal in general.

My technology college most certainly does not offer a BA program. Even then, you're stretching Liberal Arts and Women's Studies into "any BA program" son. I never even said they didn't offer a BA program, yet somehow if we have any kind of BA program I must be full of it. You're wrong on this twice.

Yeah, and you don't know how to read. SQL Database Management != Liberal Arts. Not a single "Black Lives Matter" anything here. In fact we were talking about BLM in English class and the general consensus was the media likes to exaggerate. Half of us are black.

It's a pretty nice college too. Very well kept, very nice campus. Wonderful community.

I thought neural networking was the future, which doesn't require nearly as many people as traditional programming since they "learn" on their own? I was reading something like that in Wired magazine a few months ago I think.

Well neural networking is coding.

You have to write the software that can make and emulate the neural networks then you need someone to tailor it to do what they need. Also I think it's sort of a trade secret that nothing's made too simple to the point where anyone can use it, that's just my "conspiracy theory". (Looking at database management here)

You mean liberal arts students are predominantly liberal? Who could believe that?! But sure, if you major in something useless and get stuck working at Subway, you tend to bring up politics a lot and strongly push for Democrats.

Generally speaking, the less impressive the student's major, the more likely they are to overtly take strong stances on politics (granted, many of the lowest-performers also go into public sector jobs so there's also a self-interest). The largest exception to the rule is science majors whose prospects rely heavily on government funding so you're going to want to push for the party more likely to shower you with money.

Liberal Arts! Women's studies!

No, programming, English. My college doesn't offer any of those stereotypical classes. All the students have to take English as part of their major.

The teachers don't push anything down the student's throats, but I've yet to meet a single Republican. Well, I did meet one Republican. He didn't believe in evolution either. Librul campus propaganda!

I'll tell you whut', capacitive buttons are horrible.

Take that away since the Switch could just use its own real buttons, and buying a second switch (an extra $300) just to play 3DS games doesn't sound like a valuable deal when things like the 3DS/2DS XL exist for much cheaper.

Maybe what I can get behind is an extension to the Switch that adds nothing more than a second screen and cartridge slot for $60-$100, along with 3DS emulation software for the Switch itself. I don't really see that happening, but I can't say that wouldn't be pretty cool.
