He was like 37 then. But sure enough he did make it to 40. | DreamwaIker 04/20/17 1:38:26 AM #8 | Ten years ago, I was finishing up 12th grade. I thought that today I would have a math PhD and be teaching at some decent university. I also thought I would have made at least one small but meaningful contribution to mathematics and that I would also teach part-time at a high school and help out with their math club since I enjoyed math club when I was in high school. In actuality I dropped out a few semester after the Master's (without getting the PhD) and though I do work in math education and enrichment I am not currently teaching at any university or high school. Lately I have been planning to transition more into programming than math, but I haven't done enough of that, so it's hardly even worth mentioning about present me. If the question were about 5 years ago, then I would've dropped the high school math club part and would've said I'd be teaching Community College with far more interest in teaching than in math research. As for the initial post of this topic, sure, I would rather live in a world where technology does more work for us than it does now.
