Imagine you have a cake. *pulls a fudge marble cake out of nowhere* In Capitalism, the productivity creates a big cake. If you don't work, you get a tiny sliver of the cake--maybe none--but if you work hard and handle money well, you can get a big chunk of it. But either way, you need to work. *pulls out another cake* In Socialism, there's less productivity (less motivation to work hard), so the cake is smaller. However, you don't need to work to get your share. Everyone receives an equally small (but not tiny) piece of cake. Just enough to satisfy you. If you work hard, you can get a slightly bigger piece, but this system is more about giving everyone an equal piece. So which cake would you rather have?
