Preliminary Rules:
- Users are given two pools of 20 characters. They must place each character in one of three categories. Categories are assigned point values for scoring.
- Users MUST place five characters in EACH of the three pools, however they do not have to be in any specific order at all. All characters in the same pool will receive the same amount of points.
- The five characters not placed in a pool will recieve 0 points overall.
- Highest 10 scores in a grouping move on. Next three highest score move on to the Wildcard Round, there will always be a wildcard round after every round meant for characters who fall victim to tough groupings.
- Lowest seven scores fail to make it past the prelims and are eliminated automatically.
- Rounds last 24 hours
- Tiebreakers will be decided by most +10's or +5's.

Deadpool and Hermione set the high mark for score after two days. Harry Potter characters show up strong. Cammy does very well in a tough group. Ellie is better at surviving the cut then Glen, by one favorite vote. I am very surprised to see Luffy and Don get so much hate. And Bluto might just win the worst character in the contest award and it's only Day 2.

Horror movie characters fall flat. Dirty Harry barely gets edged out to Guybrush and Nemo. Personally happy to see Spike make it! Godot does very well and Chewbacca ties the high score as well. Daenarys was a tough out last contest, as most GoT characters were. Might be a future teller there as she does not do too well here.

This is the third edition of the MEFCC series. Tyrion Lannister has won once and Magneto has won once. How will this year's edition unfold?

There are lots of fictional characters out there. I had created a list of 385 automatic entries. Only the most popular from each genre were included. After filling out the user's nominations we are now at 500 characters.

The winner will be crowned the most excellent fictional character ever! This will be a multi-round contest with different rules and a different amount of eliminations each round. The first round will be Preliminary and half the field will get eliminated, 250 out of 500.

This topic is dedicated to giving results from each mat-up in the MEFCC contest. I will also update stats as they happen, and key everyone in on trends when I can. Fell free to discuss results and the contest (or anything really) in this topic.
