Hm I should probably clarify that, by "back a winner" I don't necessarily mean I will most certainly vote for a former champion, though I'm not opposed to voiding the asterisk- I mean I really want to main a character I think has a good shot at winning and I actually like.

Right now the short list includes: Simba, Mulan, and Aladdin

Wildcards include: Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps, Frollo, Jack, and Tigger (provided he actually makes it that far)

Of course there are the Poohs, Punz, Mickeys, and Donalds of the contest that have a great shot as well, but I can't see myself rooting for them actively. Some have already had their shots and others I'm just not interested in seeing them do better than they do already.

Wait THAT'S the qualification for being a bloc? It would have made more sense if it was because we share a lot of favorite characters (and even then that's mostly limited to X as our VII and XII saves of choice deviate quite a bit). If that's the case Jeff/Leon was a bloc along with... well anyone who uses Discord. I would posit that outside of a small handful of saves the two of us do not really vote as a unit.

Sorry Gen!

I love Pan, but my goal was strictly a new record for him/top 30. If I start to see more support I'd consider altering my plans, but for now I've been the only one consistently trading for him. Belle and Punz, meanwhile, have other users as their #1 priority.

I'll support Pan as long as I can, but not at the expense of my top priorities this contest

My stance is that I have been crippled by an arbitrary rule change in that I'm no longer able to even GET niche characters I legitimately enjoy (and Vaan) into the competition using a strategy that was previously at my own- and anyone else's- disposal. That's fair enough, I just think it should be a community decision. You know by the entire community, not the 15 people that happen to be around to notice the poll in a topic right before the actual contest goes up (pulled that number straight out of my ass but you get my point).

You see without next-contest alliances or trades I can't even get one of Yazoo or Vaan in without giving up on the other. I mean sure it limits certain people's power but it also completely negates other's which wasn't even the intended effect of that rule but a byproduct of it.

(And yes I know technically I could've got one in without giving Vayne a free save, but I don't break promises.)

It's an analogy, but it's exactly why I don't like the concept. I don't want some people having a disproportionate influence over who gets into the contest.

But yes, all trades have to be limited to this specific iteration of the contest.

Leon I completely get the place from which you're coming, but I can assure you "some people" is actually literally the only TWO people with that kind of influence, one of which doesn't participate anymore (Sir Knight), and one of which is gonna hold that clout regardless (Former Fantasy Despot). I've been saying over the last two days (ask gauntlet Discord and v_charon) that my glory days in Save Mys are over with; actually, it's far more likely that Tidus winning was a fluke than that he won almost entirely due to my charisma. Yes prev/next-contest alliances did help, but Tidus still needed enough natural popularity to get that far. I really can't get into a long discussion about this right this moment, but in a nutshell I really do think this needs to be reopened to a community forum sometime, even if it's for next contest and not this one.

That's just it though: when it's a one-on-one agreement between two parties and no one else there is no "BEST OFFER". I can offer Koala this hypothetical deal, but then... I dunno- Jeff can offer the exact same thing with Cloud next contest, whom Koala likes more I'm certain and completely negate me. I'm not going to one up Jeff and offer both my own and v_charon's support of Vincent- or Inviso's or Ermine's or PlasmaKappa's because frankly I have no control over anyone but myself, so it really just comes down to Koala's preference there. I mean... I can't speak for the community, but I think there's a gigantic difference there that needs to be explored.

Speaking of, if Rapunzel couldn't win against Darkwing then she's got little chance going up against the Grand Daddy, Mickey Mouse. I know earlier I predicted Mickey would have no chance of getting near the final, but this was before JONA essentially fell on his sword with all the other classics he generally supports. Now Double Ms' got 3:1 odds of Final 3 at least. 5:1 if Donald falls 21st-30th place. If you're not a fan of Mickey now's the chance to be thinking about who can beat him.

... WAT!? Doc Peter Pan is currently my #5 priority now that Jack is out of the contest, but I've gotta say you waffling on him is making it really hard to keep him up there. Hell I didn't have charon save him in our trade last round because a) Pan was doing very well prior to this last round and b) charon was late to the start

If you're doing this out of a test of commitment I urge you to call it off. Rapunzel has made a final before, she is not going to top that performance, but Peter Pan has yet to show the contest what he's capable of. If it's out of preference well fair enough. The previous statement still applies.

What's Vinny's highest placement in this? Say it's like 7th for this analogy. If my help gets Vincent to 5th I want your double nom. If my help gets him to 3rd, I want your double and 2 singles. If I get him to a final, win or lose, I want all your noms. Something like that. I'm pretty sure I've seen all my top favorites do about as well as they're ever gonna do so my only interest would be bringing in new niche characters and gauging their strength now.

That's a long time coming though. For the immediate future how about an alliance: Vincent for your choice of Maechen, Isaaru, or Balthier once we get to the 2 save rounds. I know you don't like Tidus and charon doesn't trust you to get Seymour after that one contest so those are your options.
