Arena needs to be pick-your-own-class instead of only giving you 3. If everyone picks Mage, that's Blizzard's fault.

I'd actually be interested if they implemented a system where Blizzard removes your most recently picked class from the choices in arena. I don't think anything else is really needed or even appropriate since there is also a couple of classes that are pure trash in arena and I would not wish it on any of them to have it forced on them.

Got to rank 10 at least which was the goal. Had some tough matchups early on and some bad draws, but got some power plays with a few games when it counted like...

Mimic podding into prep with Vanish, Coin, and 2 Swashburglers in hand. Then the next turn drawing the next prep >.>

Not playing the quest until turn 8. But when I do have enough cards just to OTK from hand.

I also added in Barnes to the deck as like a test. I want to try the elemental version too but I still don't feel comfortable enough with the vanish list.

Imo taunt warrior is annoying not really because of the power level but because all they do is like play taunts and clears and nothing else. They don't really seem to have a lot of decision making trees from what I've seen but I don't have the cards for the deck.

-Decent for the Chinese stuff (that has sucked) but I don't really see a reason for the massive MAL score.

17. Kabukibu!
-You know, anime can manage to make almost anything exciting or interesting. They try and fail here.

18. Tsuki ga Kirei
-This is pretty painful.

19. Sakurada Reset
-This is one of the worst first episodes to a show I have seen. Like almost every single aspect from the voice acting, the pacing, animation, every single thing is bad. I mean I thought the guy was narrating... but no he's talking to his friend. I don't really understand any of the choices made. I almost feel like they said something interesting somewhere but the way they talk in the show is so monotone that I almost feel like I missed half the episode.

Time to talk about the first week

1. Renai Boukun
-I never really liked the Yandere type... but this one is just kind of over the top in a good way. I mean this entire show is basically a huge parody so you know. In terms of comedy this is by far the best of the season so far, good animation, decent fan service and even some pretty good humor mixed in with it. I mean each girl is kind of annoying but in a way that doesn't really detract from enjoyment.

2. My Hero Academia S2
-Pretty good intro to the next season. Not a lot of background stuff, like went right into things. Not a lot of action going around but clearly reestablished the characters. The banter was great and the show looks really good too. Like you can tell there was a lot of overall thought that went into this.

3. Sakura Quest
-A stange, but I think a show that could either become a huge winner or just fall on its face if it doesn't manage to keep up the type of humor it has.

4. Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor
-In terms of like ecchi type comedies or whatever this is... I thought this was great. It already is doing stuff that's not too common. Although while I do understand having like sexualized fettish outfits in these shows, I do think the uniforms are kind of dumb.

5. Boruto
-I almost didn't pick this up, but based on the first episode I'm glad I did. Like the animation excellent and it has some flashes of what naruto once was (a good show). Like I'm not sure how many of you remember when Naruto first started but everyone loved it.

6. Attack on Titan S2
-Pretty good first episode. I did think some parts were kind of dull, but things like the Titans running was some of the most hilarious shit I've seen. I also have an issue with the end of the episode as I wish they handled it differently but whatever.

7. Hinako Note
-The moe show of the season. It's like 80% is the order a rabbit 10% lucky star, and 10% some other stuff. Extremely cute, but it's going to have to work on finding its own identity.

8. Clockwork Planet
-A show that probably has a strong waifu of the season candidate. Is hurt by poor animation overall, but I think the characters have a lot of charm. Sadly, the main character does almost remind me of the guy from the hair cut anime (which I dropped so I can't really say that). I think this might be a show people underrate.

9. Armed Girl's Machiavellism
-A fairly fresh concept. This one could go either way. Like after I saw the episode I was like "wow I really liked that" but like later I struggled to remember why I liked any of it.

10. Seikaisuru Kado
-One of the few serious type shows that aired in the first week. The intro episode was kind of slow and just had a lot of set up. Unsure how I feel about the girl with the kids drawpad, despite being cute I feel like her type needs some freshing up.

11. Tsugumomo
-This is one of those shows that feels like a throwback to a simplier time (okay the source material is like 10 years old). It might not be groundbreaking, but I think it was pretty solid in what it did. The main girl is great.

12. Alice & Zoroku
-This show is proably going to go into some stupid territory, but I'll give it a shot.

13. Twin Angel BREAK
-Not actually a bad show. But just not special overall.

14. Frame Arms Girl
-Liked this more than I thought I would. Still seems dumb.

15. The Royal Tutor
-Wasn't really into it at first and considered dropping, but the ending made me reconsider. Has some potential.

I'm playing the deck (priest). I actually think it's pretty high skill cap, or maybe just very luck dependent overall. Seems like once its ahead it wins because cards like equality (well Paladins in general) are non existent. But if you're trying to survive you just can't toss resources because your win condition is a joke combo that you did for fun in vanilla.

Not sure. I got the BotW one mostly because I think the carrying case and sound track was worth the extra money overall. Could I get them for less separately? Probably but it would have been too much work overall tracking them down.

I have talked about this like when it happened and I had the same reaction. It's one of those things where it's like... there were much better ways to handle this, but the show had already built every character up to be this entire overly melodramtic mess.

I actually think the shows pretty good because of the overall voice work, rakugo, and the ongoing thing where Sukeroku wants to help it evolve. But the entire thing of the other dude not wanting any of that... is just kind of dumb because they never explain why... or at least don't give acceptable reasons but to have some form of conflict.

5. Wolf's Rain - Stray

You know a difference in like some anime openings (which are like actual songs by real bands etc) and ones that are just like… songs from some western places like this one that just happened to be made for an anime… it’s like the production and overall work done to make it feel like an actual real song was a lot more important. Not that I always mind the seemingly overuse of edm and such in a lot of anime now (some of my favorite tracks uses a lot of it), but I do wish more anime would just focus on making good composition like this versus having to be like overly cute or in your face about something. That being said this is a good song with good vocals, nice instrumentation, etc. I’m especially impressed with the bass here it’s really spot on.

4. Code Geass OP 1 - Colors

This is another song that just has really good composition. Not only that but they made sure each part of present within the song. It has a catchy tune, great vocals, well put together. There’s a lot going on but it’s not a mess. They do a lot with the melody. I don’t think it’s quite good enough to have won like a best song contest if others songs considered to be the “best” were in the contest too, but this is still a high quality piece of music.

3. Evangelion - A Cruel Angel's Thesis

This is probably among the most recognizable songs within the “older” anime community. It’s not the most instrumentally impressive song but out of all the songs on this list I think it has some of the best pacing and mixing of the instruments it’s using. Overall has some excellent vocal work. Not a lot to say about it except for it being a piece you can listen to constantly.

2. Spice and Wolf - Tabi no Tochuu

I think it’s apparent here that a lot of care went into this song. The opening is great, had wonderful composition, nice vocal work. The pacing, tonal changes, everything is pretty much put in just the right spots. Even though the song is pretty much clearly like perfected like a science it has this feel of “authenticity”. Parts of the song almost feel haunting. Top tier.

1. Cowboy Bebop - Tank!

I had a few songs I was tempted to just ban outright despite not being nominated in any topics. This is one of them. I’ve stated before I don’t really enjoy jazz for the sake of jazz. I often find them to be way too messy without any real direction in where the song is going. I am more a fan of like jazz fusion type stuff where they implement elements of it into other songs. This is a huge exception though as I really feel like a lot of real thought went into this composition instead of stuff just happening. Not only that but it manages to have just a perfect mix or being contained in places but also letting you know it has a kind of life of its own. Even if the song might not be as clean as others, there are just times when what its doing is so good that none of that really matters at all.
