The Michelin-starred celebrity chef, 50, says he likes to “eat properly” and chat to his wife Tana, 42, and their four kids during dinner time.

When asked if his family watch TV while they dine, Gordon said: “No, that’s pretty gross. Also the sofa is off-white, which is bad enough with the dog on there, so no food.

“I like to eat properly, hold conversations, divide and conquer, find out who’s doing what, who’s fallen behind at parents’ evening, and then retire to the sofa, with a drink.”

The Scot, who added a “glass of Rioja” was his preferred couch tipple, was also asked if he ever eats in bed, telling the Radio Times: “Oh no, no, no, no, no, no. No.”

It comes as Gordon said he won’t be leaving his massive fortune to his children as he fears it will “ruin them”.

It means that Megan, 18, Matilda, 15 and Jack and Holly, both 17, will receive little of his net worth, believed to be around £113 million ($A187 million).

“It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them,” he said.

No idea why gamers care so much but I doubt Sony and Microsoft will move away from them thanks to the cost.

Only thing that could change is if they follow the lead of the Switch and make a portable Xbox/PlayStation that can share games with a console.

"I used my last key I guess I should do nothing about it but cry on gamefaqs about it" ~ Darmik

You're not even trying to make an excuse for it anymore. It has nothing to do with attention span. It's a lame puzzle sprinkled through the game to waste your time. Either by making sure you bought enough keys from specific stores or by taking the time to do a random puzzle found in a newspaper.

It's there to be a hindrance. It's there to be filler. Nobody will care that they're gone in the next game. Nobody will look back fondly on Andromeda because of Remnant puzzles. The most positive thing said about them is "they're not a big deal because you can spend game money to skip them"

They're a dated concept that have no reason to be in video games like this anymore. No one is playing Mass Effect to solve Sudoku puzzles to save planets. Which is literally what the game asks you to do. So why is it there? What makes it good game design?

I barely defended it. I just said they didn't personally bother me compared to Remnant puzzles. It's just a convoluted way to find a password for the computer. I wouldn't care at all if they got removed. They probably should be.

Besides didn't you need to level up your computer skills to hack? If you didn't you'd only ever get the easy 4 word ones that can be done in a few seconds. Maybe I didn't care about it because of the many other issues I had with Fallout 4. Why do we need this crap in games? Who finds them fun? I can sort of understand lockpicks since they want that as a resource and they don't want lockpicks breaking to be left to random chance. Even that sorta seems like a stretch. Locked doors are already gated by your skills.

You need to have the foresight to have bought them. Otherwise you need to backtrack through several loading screens to go and buy one and a long trek back. It's pretty lame to punish players this way to let them skip it anyway. Why not just replace it with an optional combat sequence instead? Why do we need to calculate this crap when we have an AI with us? It barely even fits the story they're trying to tell. It's lazy filler in every single way.

The patch basically also took out 2/3 of the sudoku puzzles and expanded the easiest third to be ALL of the puzzles in the game.

A big issue was that they seemed to have just thrown random sudoku puzzles into the game and some of that shit is designed around people that spend years doing it as a hobby. You can't do that. You can't have some random trivial puzzle in a game be some 1 hour horrifying puzzle with a massive board that has a single unique solution and a million possibile failures designed to challenge those dudes that have solved literally a thousand puzzles and have a mindset built for solving sudoku.

The smaller boards that were left in the game are fine.

I didn't know this. Clearly shows how thrown in it actually was. They probably got a bunch of them online, changed the numbers to the symbols and called it a day.

It's another sad bit of wasted potential. It feels so 'mid 2000's video game' to me. I remember having to press random buttons to unlock containers in ME1. No idea why they keep doing stuff like this.

Bioware have often thrown in a random ass puzzle which has nothing to do with the rest of the game. Usually it's a tower of Hanoi puzzle.

But here they're spread over several times throughout the game. It just feels like lazy design. Like they want to have some sort of puzzle at the end of a vault. But instead of thinking of anything unique or creative they're just gonna throw in a bunch of Sudoku puzzles and if you dislike it you can waste money to skip it. If you want to save a planet you're gonna have to deal with them.

Hopefully they don't go digging into magazines to figure out which puzzle to use to unlock chests in the next Dragon Age game.

It's not even comparable to a side card/sport game either. This is their 'lockpicking/hacking' mechanic and it's usually paired with a snore-inducing task of scanning my environment to look for glowing things that let me play the dumb Sudoku game. They don't even let you skip it by playing the game in another way like through a wave of combat.

But he only consumed 15 manager Robert Rank reassured news.com.au when we contacted him.

This may go some way to explaining Peck subsequent alleged decision to run from the restaurant and swim 50 metres into the ocean off Main Beach, where he hid underwater for a time before being fished out by police on a jetski.

Tysen Benz was in his room when he read text messages saying someone he knew had committed suicide.

Shortly after, the 11-year-old boy from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula hanged himself.

Now, a 13-year-old girl is facing criminal charges in connection to his death. Marquette County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Wiese said the girl posed as someone else when she faked her own death during a text conversation with Tysen. And the boy, for reasons still unclear, believed it and killed himself within two hours of receiving the messages, Wiese said.

Wiese said he could not confirm the relationship between Tysen and the girl, but media reports say she was his girlfriend.

“The impact that it had on the boy — there’s a logical connection,” Wiese told The Washington Post. “He did this within hours of the conversation happening via text.”

The girl, whose name was not released, has been charged with malicious use of telecommunication service, punishable by up to six months in juvenile detention; and using a computer to commit a crime, which carries up to a year in punishment. Both are misdemeanor charges.

The incident happened on March 14. Nothing seemed amiss when he came home from school earlier that day, said the boy’s mother, Katrina Goss, of Marquette, Mich. He seemed happy and was proud that he had gone to his tutoring session without being reminded, Goss told The Washington Post. She baked him some treats as a reward. After dinner, Tysen went up to his room.

Shortly after 10 p.m., Goss went to each of her three sons’ rooms to tuck them in. Tysen’s door was locked, but she was able to open it with her key. At first, she thought her middle son was hiding or playing a trick because he wasn’t in his bed.

“I went in and I thought he was being silly,” Goss told The Post. “I ended up finding him in the closet . … I tried to hurry up and lift him up. I was screaming. I told my oldest son to call 911. My littlest one was bawling.”

Goss said the paramedics were able to revive Tysen. The boy was hospitalized for three weeks before he died on Tuesday.

Goss said her son often used Snapchat. The night he died, she said he was texting and talking on Snapchat with the 13-year-old girl, who was using someone else’s account when she told Tysen that his girlfriend had died. No one warned her son that it was all a prank, Goss said.

The more I think about it the more I don't think it's a good idea to remake/reboot;
- Star Wars canon makes the story and characters less interesting
- Bioware game expectations are vastly different. You only have one straight romance per gender. Combat wasn't action based. Some of the squad don't have much dialogue like T3 and Zalbaar and that's part of their character
- Combining these two things the game would either be too similar and disliked or too different and disliked

May as well just make a new Stars Wars RPG.

They still seem to be developing active content for it which is why I'm not sure if I can completely believe the rumor.

I feel like EA is the kind of studio that will want both a Star Wars MMO (which can always be rebooted to a new one) and a single player Star Wars game. In which case the MMO would be with Austin and the single player game with Edmonton (which would mean the new IP is cancelled since Dragon Age would be way under development now) or Montreal (who are just finishing up Mass Effect Andromeda).

Of course if EA are happy to ditch the MMO or increasing the size of Austin to handle two games then it's feasible.

Past Nintendo hardware did not go for specs alone, but placed an importance on balancing it along with new gameplay methods. Have you taken into account the performance of competing companies’ gaming hardware and PCs this time?

Takahashi: Our main focus was with the implementation of the Switch’s core concept: how it would %u200Bswitch%u200B from playing in TV Mode, to Tabletop Mode, to Handheld Mode. It had to be graphically capable enough in TV Mode, but it had to be capable of playing in handheld mode for long enough as well. We made it an important goal of ours to find a good balance between those two aspects, so I think our team had a much different mindset than that of other companies.

It certainly seems so. A console focused entirely on maximizing its graphics would probably only last 30 minutes on the go.

Takahashi: If it even lasted that long (laughs).

And could you tell us about how the Switch got its name, despite the Wii being followed by the Wii U? I imagine there was a lot of heated debate regarding it during your development discussions.

Takahashi: We had numerous discussions about it.

Koizumi: The late president Iwata initially asked us to “Do something new”, so we had it in our heads from the start that we had to move away from older names like the Wii and Wii U, or the DS and 3DS. Our line of thinking was that all aspects of the system must be drastically different from past hardware, even down to the name.

Takahashi: And that went for the software development side as well.

Koizumi: Yes. In that sense, we would be changing many different things. For example, we were always thinking about how we could revise the development environment, the way development teams were structured, and even the mindset of the developers themselves. This had more of a connotation of “change”, but we decided it would be more appropriate to call it the “Switch”, as that had the nuance of a replacement. So we chose that name out of all of the various candidates.

Takahashi: And there was no shortage of name candidates. We must have had thousands.

Thousands! Did the ideas come from many different people?

Koizumi: We told everyone what the new hardware would be like, and asked them to come up with names that would fit well and be easy for people to understand. And we ended up with thousands of potential names.

Takahashi: We ended choosing “switch”, a word that means something. It’s not a made-up word like the “Wii”, so it was also a 'switch' away from that (laughs).

Was decision on the final name made unanimously?

Takahashi: There were a lot of different reactions to it

Koizumi: When we explained it, they went “you took all this time to come up with?”

Takahashi: But in the end, we made sure it felt right to the overseas staff. We decided to use it because it would convey new changes from new hardware, and a 'switch' in gameplay.

Takahashi: When development for the Switch began, it didn’t even have the codename “NX.” But at that time, there were discussions taking place between the late president Iwata (Satoru Iwata, former president of Nintendo), Takeda (Genyo Takeda, Nintendo’s “Technology Fellow”), Miyamoto (Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo’s “Creative Fellow”), and myself. The four of us began by looking at the entirety of our new hardware plans. When the discussion turned towards who should be at the center of the project, we decided to call in Koizumi.

Around what time were these discussions taking place?

Takahashi: That was about 3 years ago. You tend to discuss what sort of hardware you want to create whenever you’re on the verge of moving into something new, but Nintendo is always coming up with new ideas, so we had numerous materials and concepts already prepared. We decided the direction we wanted to go with these materials and the person we wanted to lead everything around the same time.

And that’s when Mr. Koizumi joined.

Koizumi: I was on the Tokyo production team at the time, but one day they suddenly told me I was to come to Kyoto. There, the late president Iwata told me to “create a tag team with Kawamoto” (Kouichi Kawamoto, the Nintendo Switch’s general director). I still clearly remember what he said back then, “I’ve chosen the most un-Nintendo-like people”. (laughs)

There's a lot more behind the link. The interview is very in-depth.

The menu is pretty expensive. $28 for Spaghetti Bolognese?

regardless...when you go in and look at those prices and realize you can't pay it...you get up and leave, not say "its ok....I'll just escape into the ocean after dinner".....

But then you have to leave after you sat down. How embarrassing!

It's kinda weird seeing a King Kong story where him climbing the Empire State Building and 'beauty killed the beast' isn't a thing. He'll be way too big by now lol. I'm surprised they didn't even have it as a backstory for Skull Island or something.

You can get a legit 1070 in a laptop these days. It's really not that crazy.

Something like the PS5 will probably have a few models and form factors. If it's easy to scale games across several configurations (which both Sony and Microsoft are already doing this generation) then the next obvious thing is to make a tablet/portable version of it. I'd say the biggest issue right now is balancing cheap physical media (which might be a non-factor if more and more people do digital) and storage.

If Sony could cram a PS4 into a tablet form factor it would be released tomorrow. Eventually this stuff will be feasible. Kinda like how laptops overtook gaming PC's.
