NY being a "Blue" state doesn't mean anything. NY has a ton of rural counties and they pretty much all go red. The reason NY is blue is due to several cities such as NYC, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester, Buffalo being a large portion of the state's population.

I also don't see how folks can say activists can't do harm when you look at the polling after. People think Harris is "too focused" on trans issues and not enough on the middle class because of hits Trump gave like how she supported surgeries for inmates. When she was asked about it, Harris said "i'll follow the law" and activists screamed about that on social media for weeks.

It's not even about policy, because alot of activists don't care as much on that. They're almost exclusively focused on language and messaging. The language policing is forcing Dems to campaign with one hand tied behind their backs. The time Biden had to spend catering to the activist attacks after he said "illegals" was absurd.

OR, would it be a much more sound strategy to slowly try and convince Biden to drop (since it is ultimately his decision, technically) to avoid a huge spectacle (more than it already is). You can always turn up the slow burn to increase pressure, but you can't set the temperature all the way up immediately and be left with no options when his campaign refuses the will of the people.

Democratic leadership (reportedly) want Biden to drop out on his own to avoid any additional spectacle, but if he refuses I fully expect the public calls for Biden to drop to increase dramatically next week. He is not only slated to lose in a dramatic loss, but the polling discrepancy between Biden and downballet candidates in battleground states is too significant to ignore. He is about to drag the whole party down if he refuses to listen to voices outside of his inner circle.
