I want to be more excited about this, but I'm just so burned out on the MCU in general. Plus after watching how badly they wasted Christian Bale, I don't even know that I have confidence that they will really take advantage of the star power they're pulling in.

I've been burned out since Thor 2 - when I saw the formula they were going for.
Didn't help that for a long, LONG time, none of my favourite characters appeared. No Punisher, no Green Goblin, no Sabretooth, no Mephisto, no Nightcrawler, nothing. So for a big stretch they weren't even making films about characters I cared about at all. And then they did the Spider-Man movies and just had to make him a teenager, so I didn't want to watch those films either.

I've been a lifelong Marvel fan, but the MCU has just been deflating for me at every turn.

Wasn't there a conspiracy that JFK was actually alive, had merely staged his own assassination, and would return to America to run as Trump's VP. Didn't a bunch of people actually go to Texas, because they thought Kennedy would be showing back up?

This is what people mean when they point out how the Left ALWAYS devours its own. They are obsessed with ideological purity and are quick to shun anyone who deviates from their doctrines. They are more focused on internal enemies than actually gaining power and doing any good.

You can be an avowed Left-winger, but step out of line on something like Palestine or race or gender, and apparently you're on the level of a Nazi to these people. It's insane. And they'll never change, because they're erected this sad psycho-drama where they're perpetual victims and by virtue of being victims can do no wrong.

Lol, no. I got those Rasputin eyes, and it makes people uneasy around me. Not to mention a really strange voice, so no one knows what country I'm even from. But I'm more or less asexual, so it's never really bothered me too much that I am unattractive to others.

I always laugh at that one promo with Mikey Whipwreck. Austin's all like 'You're a bum, you're not fit to be in the same ring as me', then he ruffles his hair and calls him a good kid. Guy's genuinely hilarious when he wants to be.

Leftists are often self-defeating. Rightists have a greater tendency to believe in strong-men and unite behind singular leaders against an out-group - whereas from what I've seen, the Left is often more obsessed with internal enemies.

There was a YouTuber I watched who got pretty into Lefitst politics and made a video about transgender issues - and what I found really interesting was that his REAL vitriol was not for transphobic people, but people within his own community, 'allies' who did not conform to his exact values. The sad thing is that as I was watching, I predicted he would go down that exact avenue.

I use this as an example. One side is more easily unified, the other often fragments and will not see the bigger picture if it means compromising their ethics. How could a Trump re-election lead to civil war when the other side is so disunited and quick to devour itself?

Completely out of the loop here as it's not my sort of game. But are you saying that the character behind all this controversy is actually meant to be 15 years of age? If that's the issue, why not just make her an adult? Why would people WANT a character that young to be sexualized?

But I've raised this issue before and people get tetchy about it for some reason. Sexualize who you want, it makes no difference to me, but at least make sure they're adults, right? That's not an unreasonable position.

I must ask, what is it about Palestine in particular which makes it such a consistent issue for the Left? I have been to trade union marches, with nothing whatsoever to do with Middle Eastern politics, and people were flying that flag. Why the obsession?

Oh, this looks pretty cool! Really interested to see Bats as the new villain, considering how much I liked the Toads in the first game. This seems to have a really different aesthetic from the first game, which I think is a nice direction.

I remember always seeing Virtua Cop in the arcades. I wish I'd played it. Heck, I wish SEGA was still making the Virtua series in general. Their trajectory as a company is just depressing.

Why do people get so angry about music? I swear, it's like their self esteem is wrapped up with these people they don't know. It's kind of bizarre.

I get the feeling that if there IS an afterlife, it will be full of the same drudgery and unfairness as our lives here. The idea of a 'heaven' where everything is fun and perfect all the time just doesn't match up to reality for me. It seems more likely that any afterlife, being full of human spirits, would be just as bad as the world humans have made here on Earth.

Oblivion and nothingness could in fact be a blessing when compared to the possible alternatives. Heck, imagine an eternal paradise where everyone was happy - but you still carried all your emotional baggage with you, and could never find any rest or any peace and no one could understand because they just expect you to be happy.

Humans are complex beasts, and I feel our perception of a possible afterlife is often rather simplistic.

Yeah. I'm white, and it's not a racial thing, I just wish they would not feel the need to do that. I understand that there WERE Europeans in Japan at various points, so I get that. I just get a bit tired of the whole Dances With Wolves shtick.

I'd love a series on someone like Oda Nobunaga or Ii Naomasa. Reading about them, their lives seem fascinating.

It's like when people think that a protest march will effect some sort of change - when in essence, they're just walking from Point A to Point B and then back again. It does nothing.

I must ask, what did he hope to achieve with this? These are wrongs that ordinary people can't right. Protests and boycotts don't work. He threw his life away and it didn't mean a thing.

I mean, I get it? No one wants to see innocent civilians being bombed and killed. But knowing that, knowing what they've done, why would one man's death move them to pity?

I went for an interview at a telemarketing place once. They played music WAY too loud, so God help you if you actually wanted to hear what the person on the other end was saying. The guy doing the interview tried starting a fight with one of the interviewees, and both he and his boss bragged about how they used to be criminals.

Just in general seemed like a really shady, unpleasant atmosphere.
