So you just gonna repeatedly ignore all of the people in this topic explaining why they don't like the Epic Game store? The reasons that have nothing to do with just downloading another program?

Oh I've had plenty. I used to dwell on what could have been, like the girls who were clearly interested in me in high school. But I'm happy where I am in life now and there's no telling how things would have changed had I not missed those connections.

As a tip off, if the episode's theme song is sung in English, expect a straightforward episode. If it's in Japanese, expect a more comedic / offbeat one. Not to say that those can't be great, particularly the first episode with Mad Mod.

In addition to what's already been said, Epic Games took years to fix basic complaints that people had. Like they tried to set themselves up as the hot new marketplace for games on PC, but it took them 3 years just to add a shopping cart function (before that you had to buy games one at a time).

And it looks like it's fixed now, but for over 5 years they had a memory leak issue where the longer you had their app open, the more ram it would use, causing your computer to run slower and slower. Which is an issue because the marketplace apps typically stay open in the background when you start a game.

And it's not just a "It's not Steam" thing because people have no problem with GoG.

It was a little over 3 years. All of the Kingdom Hearts games released on Epic on 3/30/21 and didn't release on Steam until 6/13/24.

Nah those are just the women that get the most likes on the app. You can pay to send them a rose which pushes your like to the top of their list.

They aren't the only attractive women on Hinge though.

Thanks, I'll look into Hinge. I've never been into hookups anyway and I'd probably have confidence issues trying to bone really fast.

Just make sure you're honest about who you swipe on. Don't buy into that "it's a numbers game" mindset and swipe right on every woman.

Hinge absolutely pays attention to the type of women you like. It started out just showing me a wide variety of women, but as the days went on, it started honing in on women that was more my type based on who I was liking.

Im a casual DBZ fan who didnt get into it or know what it was until the early 2000s. I was in my late 20s and dating a woman whose young son was into it. I had never heard of it. Watched a few episodes with them and got immediately interested.

Ended up finding it on funimation and watched the whole series and loved it. Also caught the original Dragonball after that as well. I liked DBZ much more.

Despite all the online complaints Id like to watch Super and GT as Ive never seen a single episode but I dont stream and Ive never seen the series come on cable where I could watch it. Id like to watch that new one too where they are shrunk down like kids too.

You're gonna have to pick up streaming if you want to watch newer anime. There's a lot you're missing out on.

Yeah when it first got on air on cartoon network we also started with the exact same ocean dub. (I can see the parachutes!).

What happened was when the series became a breakout hit in the united states (friggin' finally right) they needed to get new episodes dubbed asap. Funimation came along and they started off right on the namek episode after goku elbow'd recoom. (This was when the voice acting was super amateurish. Piccolo's infamous YES YES! speech and whatnot).

Eventually funimation doubled back and redubbed all the previous episodes, and this was seen as a sort of "uncut" since funimation's dub retained a little of the blood (but not absolutely all). These funimation redubbed episodes eventually replaced the ocean dub episodes on repeats.

Huh, I never knew that. I must have picked up DBZ with the repeats, because I never heard the ocean dub op before.

Sorry to hear you're dealing with all that. I wish I could help you get to the root of those fears, but that's probably best left up to a therapist.

Best I can say is to remind yourself that it's normal and okay to make mistakes. And that making mistakes doesn't make you unworthy or unlovable. And also remember that you are not responsible for other people's emotions.

It's hard to take that first step, but ultimately what often helps you overcome fears is facing them. So I agree with the others. Meet Mary with zero expectations, just go and talk about your interests and whatever happens, happens.

Why not take the risk and at least meet Mary? You get along fine with your mom and enjoy taking to her about your interests. Mary has similar interests to you. You'd just have to approach the conversations similarly to how you would with your mom and don't freak yourself out mentally. You don't have to be perfect in every interaction you have with people

It felt pretty obvious to me that you meant the movie, since it just came out in theaters on the 20th.

She is 100% trying to set you up with Mary. My mom does that shit to me all the time when I'm single. After I broke up with my ex, I was single for 3 years. And during that time, my mom brought up her young coworker, "V" a lot. I got "You should meet her. She's sweet, I think you'd like her." All the time.

She meant well, but wow it got annoying. The only thing that got my mom to back off was getting a new girlfriend lol.

I'd say either meet Mary, or put yourself out there and date someone else, so she doesn't have a reason to try and set you up on dates

True Crime Streets of LA was a lot of fun and had a great soundtrack, but nah, not better than GTA.

Sleeping Dogs though... Probably my favorite game in the genre.

Yeah that always sucks when you get things spoiled unexpectedly like that. I remember I had Spider-Man No Way Home spoiled for me.

For what it's worth, there's still a lot to look forward to in the movie itself. I saw Sonic 3 yesterday and it was fantastic

Ill take it a step further. When people find out I have no cell phone at all and have never owned one they get really weird about it. They try to justify why they HAVE to have one and they keep challenging me on scenarios where they think its not possible I go through life without a cell phone. They act like its not possible in this day and age which amuses me.

But yeah, it makes some people uncomfortable that not everyone is tethered to a phone or dependent on the internet.

It's absolutely possible to go without a cellphone. People did for generations.

I think people are weirded out because you're intentionally avoiding something that is a modern convenience. And they can't wrap their head around it. So they start trying to sell you on the idea because "you don't know what you're missing."

I will admit, I've been similarity taken aback by other things you've said you do without. But it's nothing that left a lasting impression, as I don't even remember any of them lol

Finally saw the movie yesterday, so I read through the topic. I was also surprised to see Escape From the City in the credits because I didn't catch it at all. And I was really paying attention.

Overall I really loved the movie and I think they did a good job of adapting Shadow's story into a movie. Was wondering how they were going to change it to keep it PG lol.

I totally get that. My first car was burgundy with the paint peeling off. Always told myself I'd get a black or white car as I always saw Mercedes and BMW's in those colors and they looked great. People complain about all cars having the same boring colors these days, but I love my car being black with silver trim. Makes it look fancy, imo.

People have always freaked out whenever there's a pandemic. You being surprised by this is just recency bias. From 2002 to 2004 we had the SARS Pandemic. And from 2008-2010 both Bird Flu and Swine Flu made the jump to humans, with a fairly high fatality rate. All 3 of those caused widespread panic, and they didn't kill anywhere near as many people as Covid did.

I wear athletic shorts 75% of the year. And as far as work goes I have a work uniform and just wear coveralls. So I only wear jeans in the winter when it is really cold out and the only place I really go where I wear regular clothes and not my work uniform is the grocery store on my weekend. So I will wear my jeans like 1 hour a week at most only during the winter time with extreme cold. They get very little use.

At home in my house I wear athletic shorts year round and nothing else.

Fair enough. I almost never wear shorts unless I'm going to the gym. I'm wearing jeans 99% of the time, even in summer.

I only own 2 pairs of jeans. I barely wear them but once a week in the winter for a trip to the grocery store. Last time I bought a pair was early 2000's like around 2001. Even in todays prices the Lee Carpenter Dungaree jeans I like at the farm store are only around $35.

In one purchase you have spent more than I have my entire life on jeans and I'm almost 50 years old. Impressive.
