The N64 did decently well, but it sold less than the NES and SNES.

Gamecube is their third least-selling platform. It didn't flop, but they were dead last that console gen.

Arkane Austin is sad because they made some gems just to have a live service game they didn't want to do forced on them and then fail.

The only games Arkane Austin made were Prey 2017 and Redfall. The parent company that made Dishonored is still active.

It's pretty much large enough that a total collapse just can't happen. Conglomerates can shutter all of their subsidiaries, but that still wouldn't kill the industry.

It's more of an RPG than FF16 is.

The weapons still give access to skills, and you can focus characters around certain builds.

And Remake is just as linear as Midgar was in the original. Not that linearity is a trait of an RPG anyway.
