They just analyze your spending behavior and determine the maximum amount they can get you to pay for a ticket. It's just getting better at it because the data can be analyzed more cheaply and efficiently now, but they haven't been paying people to do individualized pricing or marketing because it would defeat the purpose (you would definitely pay that person more than you would profit). The individualized pricing stuff done by humans is more like classic sales (cars and other big purchases). All the shit you see on Amazon recommended to you is already an algorithm and has been for a long time and it even does special prices for you to a degree now.
