I only just recently downloaded it! It's on the list for that project I'm doing where I watch one anime per season for 100 seasons. I'll watch it once I get to 2007

Here's my ranking of the seven I've seen (so not DBZ, Haikyuu, or Baccano). I thought all of these were at least worth watching. Nothing I hate here. Only partway through S2 of Mushishi.

I'm sorry that I couldn't help MyGO more. I wasn't a huge fan of the spinoff but it was fun seeing a BanG Dream anime do well.

Thought the first few episodes were fun but it dragged a lot the rest of the way through for me.

I figured you'd like the end of BanG Dream S1 more than the beginning! You talked about enjoying how Kasumi wasn't instantly great at guitar, that whole final arc is her struggling with the fact that she's holding the others back.

I hope you don't get instantly turned off by all the new characters in S2. I'm genuinely curious what a MyGO fan would think of the big dramatic arc later in the season. I hated it, but I wasn't a big MyGO fan either so hey. Also curious what a MyGO fan thinks of Hello Happy World. There's a good reason they were the only band not to get a cameo in MyGO, Kokoro would've cut through that drama like a knife through butter...

Also don't talk bad about Rimi! She's my fourth favorite BanG Dream character (Kasumi > Arisa > Rokka > Rimi).

Is the Order a Rabbit is the purest CGDCT out of all of those. The others all have prominent secondary genres (or, in the case of Lucky Star, a large portion of the show that subverts the cuteness aka Akira on Lucky Channel). I still say Kiniro Mosaic is cuter though.

In my experience manga are usually much worse in this regard. LN adaptations generally either cover fewer volumes or make huge cuts; either way, there's less repeated content before you get to new stuff. I agree about the overly simple writing simple style, though.

True, but manga have pretty pictures! I don't mind getting ripped off there as much.

In manga news, I read the first four volumes of the 7th Time Loop manga. I'm getting physical copies so that's as far as it goes for now... which sucks because it still hasn't caught up to the anime and I want to see what happens next! I know this series started as light novels, but the few LN I've read had super basic writing and I couldn't get into them. I'm sticking with the manga.

I'd say the anime was a bit better. It had a few extra scenes, like when Rishe got pranked with spicy wine but drank it anyway like a boss. The voice acting and animation added a lot too, especially to certain action scenes. Still, the manga is good. I like the cute little bonus comics at the end of each volume. Plus there's no guarantee 7th Time Loop will ever get another season, so at least I'll be able to continue Rishe's badass adventures in this format.

(Regarding my comment on LNs, I'm sure there are good ones out there. I've only read one crappy SCP one and the first Haruhi one where I mostly just felt ripped off for paying full book price for content the anime covered in three or so episodes.)

Antarctica is only like a 7 on the cute girls scale. You should watch something like Kiniro Mosaic, now that's a 10!

MyGO is more dramatic than Antarctica, but there are girls and they are cute... I'd give it a 6.

If you're such a Kasumi super fan then why haven't you watched the Poppin'Dream movie yet?

I honestly thought all the BanG Dream movies were just those ones where you watch a performance, but I now see that is not the case. Perhaps I should watch it soon!

More episodes into Hokkaido, and Akino is best girl so far. Made the show a keeper.

I thought Hokkaido Gals was fine, especially at being the kind of show it is. Minami was my favorite gal

Of course I have, I'm a Kasumi super-fan! I forget if you linked me to it once or if I found it while looking for that scene to include in my Kasumi writeup when I was doing my anime ranking, but its burned into my memory. I'll have to listen to it again when I get home.

That scene is legit my favorite part of the franchise too, I'm not kidding. That was when I fell in love with Kasumi.

I see he was the Fractale guy too, I knew that "saving anime" stuff sounded familiar.

That reminds me, I should finish Fractale. I only have five episodes left.

on a music anime note i'm still hoping that some day i can coerce anyone else to watch monster sonic and its associated media (not actual monster strike though), or show by rock's many seasons, or wug, or re:stage, so i'm not just the lone token fan of them here

Oh, I forgot to reply to this earlier because it was the bottom of the page. Assuming wug is Wake Up Girls, that's been on my "watch someday" list for years! So don't fret, I'll watch it... someday. I'll look into the other ones you mentioned too.

I honestly thought BanG Dream S1 looked fine too. My theory is that a lot of people couldn't get past parts of the art style, like all the girls having star-shaped pupils.

S2 I feel would be a bit rough at first for people who haven't played the mobile game. They do an admirable job introducing the bands for new viewers, but it's still four whole new bands. Granted, as others have said before, the main story only focuses on a few of them.

Which RAS member do you mean? They're my least favorite band, but worst character in the franchise is still Rui imho.

BanG Dream S2 was the worst one imo. Didn't like what they did with Tae.

Afterglow is cool, though! Poppin Party is my favorite band for the characters but I like Afterglow's music the best by far.

Man, maybe I finally should watch MyGO. I doubt I'll like it more than the earlier BanG Dream seasons just because it sounds more dramatic than I usually prefer, but I've heard nothing but good things otherwise.

No way it has anything that tops the best moment in the series, though! That honor goes to Kasumi singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star for several glorious minutes.
