Or also among my favorite stories is an extremely brief, extremely confusing, encounter in Exodus where Moses and his wife are traveling and stop at an inn. But then when they get there, God's there. And he's like "I'm going to kill you". And Moses and his wife panic and circumsise their baby. And this presumably stops God from killing them. And then the story just moves on as if that was normal.

This is the one that always gets me. The only way it could possibly make the slightest bit of sense is if you look at it within the likely historical context, which was that Moses was a god in some contemporary religion and the story is basically mocking him and showing Yahweh's superiority

I am NOT anti-religion or anti-christian, but the Bible has a bunch of stories where God punishes people (pretty horrifically) for not following his orders.

A lot of Christians like to use free will as their answer to the problem of evil. There's no real basis for it, it's just a popular thing to say

I love disaster movies, even the terrible ones (shout out to that one history channel way over dramatic miniseries that depicted end of world scenarios) so it's hard to pick just one. Just cause no one else has mentioned it I'll bring up Greenland. Not a great movie but entertaining all the same
