It's not that overt about it but classic slashers often had the promiscuous characters die first, often while in the middle of something sexual or romantic while the final girls were "pure" virgins.

the purity of final girls is overblown. there are examples that is true but so many especially early final girls had more edge to them

Not to mentioned a "rode hard and put away wet" joke that was used in the comic concerning Xander and Dawn.

All of this makes the rumors about Whedon and Trachtenbergs issues on set very disconcerting considering he was the writer of the season 8 comics and that he potentially considered Xander his self insert character.

there were no rumors
we know what happened. people wouldnt let her be alone with him because he was incredibly verbally abusive to his cast and crew and no one wanted to put an actual teenage girl through that so they intentionally protected her from his toxic attitude.

then people kept repeating "he couldnt be alone with her" without repeating the reason why to try to paint him as a monster instead of just a gigantic douche

it has a lot of backtracking late game running back and forth between areas and dungeons you have already completed. that holds it back

they need to give abyss some love

yeah the friday the 13th franchsie can make really likable characters. its one thing many slashers fail to do
what makes the friday movies good are that usually the characters are fun to watch before they start getting slaughtered. to many slashers just make everyone insufferable so you dont feel bad when they die
friday the 13th often had likable victims you felt bad for when they died
but still overall rather shallow so you didnt miss them to much when they got offed.

also fun fact. vicky's actress had a crush on marks actor but he had to turn her down cause he was gay and she was underage.

Very ambitious game hampered by bugs, glitches, collision detection issues, high encounter rates, mediocre music, and a final boss I never had to fight because the game glitched me passed it (lol).

but it looks like chrono trigger!!

Ok lol this was surprisingly funny for that kind of show, and weirdly more romcomy than I was expecting from power rangers

her season of power rangers is one of the darkest seasons of the show
power rangers RPM is actually set in an alternate universe otherwise it would be to depressing
well other power ranger seasons are about protecting earth from a threat
RPM is set after the bad guys already won
its a post apocalyptic setting. the world was already destroyed. 90% of mankind has been wiped out. the few remaining humans live in the dome city of corinth and the rangers protect it from the machines who wiped out most of humanity.

each rangers backstory actually involves a death

I did like that it gave orihime a cool moment. She didn't get enough of them in the Manga itself.

Even if orihime vs mind controlled rukia is just a rehash of orihimes fight against the hollow that mind controlled tatsuki

But seeing orihime throw up a shield and wall towards rukia as every attack affects the shield less and less was a cool moment
