There are definitely free workarounds for most of the services it provides, but I find it to be worth the convenience of just being able to use the native apps.

Stories that focus too much on human drama while treating the world ending threat as a background setting are annoying. Human drama like a settlement self-destructing under infighting can definitely be used to move the main plot forward, but that shouldnt take away from the threat of the outside.

Oda once again ignoring the detailed silhouette hes been using for years is annoying. Its not like its a case of it just being a placeholder like the goofy Emperor ones.

Shes just keeping up with the silly narrative that hes going to turn it into a multimedia and multifaceted empire. The main thing was something about people banking with it, or some nonsense.

Whether its Trump himself, key people in the administration, or key allies, theyre definitely poorly covering something up. Given the massive shitshow with everything, theres certainly the possibility that people have misspoken in the past about what data was actually available, but its hard to imagine theres literally nothing. If youre playing an M rated game, pretty much all of the stuff is assumed possible. If someone is not in the right headspace to be able to mentally handle that, Id say that its up to them to research what they consume rather than expect every piece of media to consider every single possible point of trauma one could potentially face.

Bakugo is a shit character start to finish. He starts off pretty much irredeemably shitty, but then the author does the thing where they kind of just soft retcon earlier shittiness and never bring it up again. Then everything from there is kind of just lukewarm fluff that never really amounts to anything.

Companies are trying to be loss leaders on tech that will inevitably make loads of money in the future, assuming something out of left field doesn't disrupt that. We're far too early for 90% of the shit they're trying to shill.

There are definitely massive problems now and in the future to be unhappy about, but there are definitely some absolute doomers who are about as annoying as the shills on the opposite spectrum. You cant lump it all together one way or the other. There are good aspects and bad aspects, some stuff being a naturally evolving market and others big money being big money.

I haven't watched any of the podcasts, but his explanation is less "going to bat" and more "here's what the bill actually means and what their perspective is." He's upset that people are dog piling on him simply for explaining things from their point of view. I don't want to listen to hours of discussion to figure out if that's correct, but I'd believe him from his word.

Awakening x 3, Wind Waker, Link Between Worlds, Spirit Tracks, BoTW. Got a third of the way through TP and SS. For the life of me, Ive never been able to get into the N64 games at all.

Start was great. Remained good until the time skip. Everything after the timeskip was exceedingly meh. The ending was trash.

It's fun for what it is, but it's definitely not well written at all. There are so many illogical things done for rule of cool. The funniest thing is the anime is actually an improvement on the web comic because they at least try to have the side characters more active in the background. Not sure how it is compared to the web novel. The quality drops off after the point where the anime is at, so I'm curious if they'll be able to do anything to improve it. The ending is trash, so I don't think they'll be able to do anything to salvage that.

Usually, the deflection goes to "it's fine if it's a necessary purchase" but what about non-essential industries with their own host of exploitation issues? When people are making the arguments "conspumption = direct harm," then the comparision is absolutely direct and valid. There is no difference between "you support harm towards trans people if you support Rowling" and "you support the exploitation of women if you support Hollywood."

You can make similar grand moral statements about all of those, and none of them are necessary purchases. Do you avoid all that too, or have you just decided this one particular bigoted creator is the end-all-be-all of boycotts?

All the terminals prompting tips is really dumb. Websites for pickup orders pre-filling a tip amount unless you manually select zero is bullshit. Shit should be wiped away and they can go back to the tip jar.

The problem is how broad do you want to take this argument? You can make the same argument about pretty much all Hollywood productions due to how scummy the industry is. You can make the same argument about nearly all major businesses. That's why it's so silly. Making arguments for avoiding her content, for pirating her content, for donating to causes that counter her opinions, are all good statements. Set is better, but playersexual makes sense from a development perspective. I think allowing the player to set their sexuality would probably make more sense at this point, making it easier than having to set up blatant flag dialogue to avoid unwanted romances.

Definitely some pretty clumsy looking packaging. Why is the two next to the logo? Is that logo even recognizable to anyone? Why is the Nintendo Switch much smaller and positioned below? Why is it the same color? I would guess the two is going to be idiot proof enough for the majority of people, but I definitely wouldve done that very differently.

Its kind of just a futile protest at this point. Its here to stay. The data theft has already happened, and big money interests will prevent any compensation from ever happening. Being overly critical of people who indulge in it is just kind of silly.

That's no different from any other argument about any other piece of technology in the last 300 years. Technology develops, jobs are lost, and new jobs are created. There may be a limit to that once technology reaches a certain point, but that's still a long, long while away.

Because mass-utilized AI voices is inevitable. I don't think it's anywhere near good enough now, but it will definitely be in the future. If voice acting will die out due to that, whatever they do now isn't going to save it. What needs protection now is the rights to their voices, and we definitely need legislation requiring the publication of any and all training data used on a particular model to weed out unauthorized usage.
