This may be a stupid question (although to be fair it's an incredibly stupid product made by an incredibly stupid man, so...), but...

...why the fuck is the interior designed to be like a car when there is literally no outlet for any driving whatsoever to take place? There's no interaction from the victims inside with regards to operating the suicide booth other than playing on an iPad, so why is it a couple of cramped seats awkwardly placed next to each other facing an irrelevant windscreen with a crappy plastic armrest in between them? That feels like the most socially awkward way two people with nothing to do but pass the time to sit on a potentially long journey, when they could make the interior bigger and have seats down either side like a subway so people can sit face to face to talk while Dumblebee takes them to their inevitable doom, or they could give room for people to lie down and nap. Hell, they could make it RV-sized and put a small living room set up in there with a seat, a couch, and a small TV, along with kitchen facilities.

There is literally not a single reason to choose that interior layout other than a weird adherence to what the inside of a car should look like.

At the start of the We, Robot event, Musk hopped into a shiny, futuristic-looking vehicle with butterfly doors that then whisked him to the stage. The Cybercab has sleek light bars in front and rear, along with deep-dish rims.

I'll respectfully disagree with you here buddy, but hear me out. I love (most of) my cars and I think something you love driving around will quickly become more of a tool than a prized posession when you have hundreds of people not giving a fuck about it.

I know someone who had an A4 but used it as an Uber. He loved that car, but over a few months loved it less and less as people slammed doors, scratched the surfaces, brought mud onto the nice Audi carpets, ate/drank in it, and generally didn't give it the respect it deserved.

I'm not saying that all Ubers deserve shoes being taken off and gentle care - but this car, for him, was a late gift from his grandparents. Bought through inheritance, pressed into service out of necessity. Watching him fall out of love with that car was quite sad to see. Something he was once proud of - and that his gran would have been proud of too - slowly becoming an unloved service item... not fun.

Yes, I know that needs must and perhaps that was best. However, I could never put my cars through that - would rather sell them to someone else who'll look after it, and buy something I'm less attached to.

Anecdotally, I don't actually know where my Civic Type-R is at the moment. I lent it to a friend, he lent it to his sister, who left it somewhere four days ago. If I get it back then that's fantastic. If not, then he owes me whatever it's worth. I trust him to pay me back if it's gone, or pay for any repairs. Otherwise, that's something I don't care about and would Uber. My other cars though, not a chance.
