I absolutely love Harmony of Dissonance. Love the two dash buttons, love how unsettlingly gothic the atmosphere is (maybe the most gothic game of the series?), and most of all, LOVE how little it holds your hand with the navigation. It's not afraid to say "hahaha you walked all the way over here? you idiot, this is still locked, go somewhere else!". Feels so nostalgically video gamey. It's a good palette cleanser after something like Metroid Dread that is basically on rails.

Harmony is closer in quality to Aria than Circle tbh. Circle kinda blows compared to all the other Igavanias.

Last good Castlevania was probably Astalon: Tears of the Earth btw for anyone who hasn't played it.

It doesn't really replicate the feel of Igavanias but it very much feels like another road the series could have gone down (while still being a metroidvania).

Feel like i've wasted my money buying a PS5. Impulse bought it Black Friday and the only games i've played on it are P3R and Trails through Daybreak. Only thing that stops me going full PC is the fact you have to wait for sales to get games cheaper. At least on console you can deals on games faster and you get the physical discs.

Yeah I feel the same (though I've played more games than you have). Biggest disappointment for me relates to your latter point: the physical discs are basically still just unlock keys for digital games, which kills the idea of physical for me. I basically buy everything on PC or occasionally Switch now unless it's a PS5 exclusive, and lol PS5 exclusives

My son had a very good friend in his class last year. His friend's mom reached out to me yesterday to tell me that his friend is now using a different name and different pronouns. I explained this to my son and it took him all of 2 minutes to understand and say that he's really excited to see her at school next week. And that was it. It was so easy. And it's so heartwarming to me that young people just... don't care!

I met up with a family friend recently for the first time since coming out as trans. Her kid is 18 but mentally several years younger and her mom was worried that she wouldn't understand what being trans means. So she started delicately explaining how I had changed my name and stuff and the kid's first question was apparently, "oh, are they non-binary now?"

Kids get it pretty intuitively and I love that. It's adults who struggle, especially willfully ignorant ones.

DS trilogy is definitely better than GBA trilogy, even if you're an outlier like me and think Ecclesia kinda sucks.

Tulsi was always a bad Dem. I remember telling people back in 2020 how bad she was. She opposed an anti-bullying bill in 2004 against LGBT people. She also supported a 20 week abortion ban. I wasn't surprised to see her go. She was never anything more than a DINO.

I think I was warning people about her as early as like 2016. Some Dems loved her for being """anti-war""" but she's always had bad vibes and it's incredible how often bad vibes predict a future conservative dipshit grifter.

Honestly being suicidal (not like actively suicidal but just having the disease as part of your person) takes some of the pressure off. If things get really bad you can say "well, I can always just kill myself" and logically that leads to "if I'm willing to kill myself I should be willing to [try X other major life change(s)]". It's actually great for combating anxiety.

The chance of being actively suicidal is fuckin awful though so it's still not worth it overall.

Yeah I also picked the return ending, and also didn't really care about Harry, but "live forever with an elder god, a squid, and maybe some fish-people if they're still alive" seemed like a poor proposition just on its own merits. Then again the alternative is being a woman in the 1930s so maybe life just sucks no matter what.

Dandara's movement is definitely a learning curve. It never stops feeling restrictive, but I eventually came to appreciation the restriction, I guess?

It was... okay. The difficulty of the puzzles seems very up and down. Chapter 4 had a puzzle I had to look up the solution to and I still didn't understand what it was asking of me even then. The story feels very mixed too. Sometimes Norah is a genius and sometimes she is incredibly blind to what's going on. I am glad that they let you just walk away at the end and that that felt like a full-fledged ending still. A lot of games that spur the main character towards a horrible fate and then offer a choice at the end to reject it seem to get mad at you, the player, for choosing that option.
