Someone on Tumblr who goes by Randomnameless brings him up from time to time, basically they see him as a sympathetic figured because of how ravaged his family gets, and they also view a Laguz and Beorc mating as "killing the Laguz" since they lose their ability to shift, so they more or less agree with him that Laguz and Beorc shouldn't mate.

Interesting, are there any discussions with them getting torn down?

I don't think Sephiran had a hand in that, but yeah Dheginsea is a fucking monster and his apologists (yes, they do exist) astound me.

Do you happen to have any posts or discussion threads that talk about the issues with Dheginsea? I also think hes a lot more unsympathetic and stupid than the game presents him as but I havent seen many discussions about his flaws at all and Im genuinely curious on reading some.

Lacking interest in most AAA games is looking better and better. At least Nintendo has said they refuse to use AI because it hinders creativity. I dont think their record of working with Unions have been extremely good though.

Yeah, I agree. Sephiran gets off scot-free if he does a heel-face turn during the final chapter (only possible on second playthroughs mind you). Frankly I find it irritating.

It's heavily implied to be the canon ending unfortunately with all the extra cutscenes and this being the only way Ike learns about his past and Soren gets his identity confirmed too.

Yeah...I found him and Dheginsea slandering the branded the way they did especially heinous. The game expects us to be sympathetic to these two, but I'm not, particularly Dheginsea. Plus, Sephiran should have worked to expose who perpetrated the Heron genocide vs just trying to end the world.

Yep, exactly my thoughts! Looking back its especially egregious that he and the senators are on the same side during the tower. Despite his new genocidal misanthropy not once did he try to hurt the senators, the cause of all the problems in Tellius, in any way. The only thing he did was simply object to what they were saying which gets him jailed but since his plan revolved around the senators causing chaos and had Zelgius, Begnions strongest champion and one of the main reasons Begnion is so unstoppable, under his command and being able to free him at any time this isnt really anything.

He shouldve attempted to destroy the senators first before going after the rest of the world. If the senators were too powerful or if the rest of the world were still shown to be horrible racist scumbags then Sephiran wouldve been more justified. However the game presents the senators as incompetent, suicidally stupid, and clueless morons who had no idea what they were doing and just coasting off of Zelgius and Sephirans machinations which just makes Sephiran look even dumber for not targeting them first instead.
The game also explicitly says the average Begnion citizens were horrified by the massacre they committed and the end of the game has everyone settling their differences right in the middle of the war after Ashera was defeated to have a happy ending so clearly humanity or Zunaminity in general can be good at heart, it was the people at the top who were the problem.
But Sephiran, who had all the resources of someone at the top, being an elite himself, decides to cause a world war to kill everyone, which naturally hurts all the marginalized and the smaller guys first before hurting the corrupt up top. He even blames the Laguz for being deeply flawed even though we only see them as victims ingame. Theres some tidbit about how Laguz owned Beorcs at one point in the past but thats snuck into only a single line at the very end of the game practically as an afterthought and is never shown in the slightest ingame.

I was a part of the big Spamton Sweepstakes one and followed the newsletters. I hadnt heard of this one though, I figured so close to launch that hed just wait for the game to release.

As someone has noted in another thread and I agree, I doubt this is because Nintendo intends to go out of their way to brick anyone who dares to mod their Switch. Rather, its legal cover so that if their updates end up bricking someone's modded Switch, the "victim" has zero grounds to sue. Basically, "We provided zero guarantees and zero warranty support if you kitbash your console. Don't connect it to our network, and don't come whining to us to repair it."

Ftr, the paperclip software exploit does already kind of require you to semi-brick your Switch in order to start up your custom firmware. You can't start it up regularly, you need an RCM launcher.

This is what I assumed everybody did anyways. If you were going to run emulated software or unauthorized software on a console, you don't take it online afterwards.

The 3DS was actually safe with it for a good while. I provided free generated Pokemon services on the trading boards for SM for a bit. But yes, that's generally the case.

It is MADDENING reading websites like Nintendo Life when they have to report on anything concerning modding the Switch. I get that it isn't exactly their wheelhouse, but they do have an obligation to their readers to ATTEMPT to learn a little about modding if they must publish articles on them. It's juvenile at best to shirk that obligation while still taking the click money.

Yep, I was actually lucky enough to get 2 moddable Switches and I've been into its emulation scene since 2019 as well. It's crazy the amount of people who clearly aren't familiar with the scenes spouting about how they're going to swear off paying Nintendo a dime from now on and just going to pirate Switch 2 games now. That's the easiest way to notice how someone has no idea what they're talking about since the only way to pirate Switch 2 games in the foreseeable future IS to buy a Switch 2 as early as possible for the potential early model exploits that would get patched out in the future. Them talking about how PC emulators will all run Nintendo games much better than Nintendo themselves are also clearly them just talking from headlines since A. you're going to need to tinkle with a lot of stuff to get that to happen and need a strong PC, something a lot of console owners aren't familiar enough to do, B. not going to happen with the Switch 2, and C. there are still games like Fire Emblem Warriors 1 that aren't supported well.

Also I forgot to mention that PSP and the Vita were primarily bought for modding too.

No, its absolutely not, do you people even mod your systems or just going off headlines? Switch got a new hardware model called Mariko models in May 2018 that patched out the paper clip exploit and theres been NO exploit found in the following 7 years since. The only way to hack the Switch is with a modchip that you need to pay hundreds of dollars to get and then hundreds of dollars more to pay an engineer to do it if you arent a soldering expert. And modchips exist for stuff like PS5 and Xbox too which are otherwise unhackable.

And even for people whove modded their systems, you are still heavily discouraged to go online with them at all. Definitely not with an account.

Meanwhile, the 3DS ever since menuhax could be relatively easily modded with just software by yourself and could go online just fine as long as you dont cheat so openly. The Wii was filled with hackers who did cheat so openly. The DS had R4s. And thats not mentioning how the Vita and PSP were basically primarily bought for modding.

Unless youre only referring to emulators. Because the Switch did get emulators relatively early. Very doubtful thats going to happen again though now that the lawsuit happened and the development teams have been scattered. Theyve even stopped working on 3DS emulators for things that still havent been emulated like streetpass functions. And thats not mentioning the Switch 2 will be much stronger than the Switch 1 and will use custom processors unlike the Switch 1 using the same GPUs as most PCs which is why it was so easily emulatable.
