I had never seen monster squad until last year I went to a secret movie at a local theater, had no idea what movie it was going to be, didnt know if it was new or old or what. Just said secret movie.

We watched it this week and really enjoyed it, then decided to watch another Ralph fiennes movie (grand Budapest hotel) and really liked that too

Well the grand Budapest hotel is definitely better in my opinion, but thats one of my favorite movies ever

The reverse of this is what I've always said hurt The Cable Guy. Everyone went into it expecting a goofy comedy like Ace Ventura, but what they got was a very dark comedy.

I remember leaving the theater and all my friends were talking about how terrible they thought it was, and I was like "No, shut up, that was a great movie." It's way better than most people remember it being, and is definitely worth a rewatch if you go into it with the right mindset.

I think it took many years, but the cable guy eventually got its flowers.

Also it looks like its the directors first movie after being a tv director for his entire career.. and one that works on some amazing tv shows. 16 episodes of succession, 12 episodes of shameless, 6 episodes of game of thrones, 23 episodes of entourage..

oh, it looks like he also directed da Ali g movie which was.. well it was a movie based on a tv show. Definitely wasnt borat, but it was funny. Also 2002 was a million years ago. Movies are so different now its crazy

second time watching it since it came out, its front page of Netflix so I think a lot of people will probably rewatch it soon. I remember people not quite realizing that it was a dark comedy more than a horror movie, but it definitely is. Top tier performances all around, especially from Voldemort who is always amazing.

Anna Taylor joy is a really good actress, and I always love John Leguizamo. Johnny legs always makes a movie better.
